This is a real SS, documented with 2 build sheets! Factory 4-speed, original colors, factory gauges. Upgraded with high performance 502, custom suspension and brakes. Ground up restored.
EXTERIOR: I hardly ever see a white Chevelle. This one was born code 10-10; antique white upper and lower. It has a super clean body, straight and fits real nice. I especially like where the hood meets the headlight buckets. That is a problem area and this car fits perfectly. No bubbles, smooth all along the bottoms. The white paint is polished out as smooth as glass. The stripes are painted on and you don't even feel them. All of the trim looks like it's new. Upfront the bumper, headlight bezels, hood pins look new. Down the sides the emblems, wheel well moldings, door handles and mirrors are new. All that stainless trim around the gutters and windows are new. In back the bumper looks new, has cowbell exhaust tips. Door jambs are painted real slick. New weather strips, window seals and sill plates. New polished 20 inch Torque Thrust II wheels and performance tires. Glass is tinted, new windshield.
INTERIOR: According to the build sheet this car was born with bucket seats and factory gauges in the dash. The upholstery has been replaced. Door panels, armrests window cranks are new. New carpet, also has embroidered Chevelle floor mats. A digital retro stereo fits into the factory hole, has 6x9 speakers in back. Beautiful custom steering wheel. Has LED interior lights. The air conditioning will throw ice cubes in your lap.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Has the Super desirable GM Performance crate motor ZZ502 with 502 horsepower. Researched, created and fully assembled by GM. It's a reliable power house. Dyno tested at 508 hp and 580 lbs of torque! Features include forged steel crank, rods, forged aluminum pistons, roller valve train and aluminum heads. This one was topped off with GM aluminum intake and intake Holley Sniper fuel injection system. Also has ceramic coated Flowmaster headers and MSD ignition. The components look new- alternator, wires, wiper motor etc. Air conditioning system has new components, updated with R134 freon. It runs cool thanks to the Griffin aluminum radiator two huge electric fans, a custom made shroud and an aluminum water pump. New cadmium plated booster and Wilwood master cylinder. Upgraded power steering box and new hoses. Everything's detailed up real nice, has a custom filler panel in front of the radiator, bottom of the hood is satin black with hood insulation, new chrome valve covers and air cleaner. Has billet hinges with struts.

@jusschillin You must not be seriously looking for anything, good deal or not, because Jay pins a direct link to the car with it's price (and appraised value) as the first comment. That link was 2 inches above the comment you replied to & would have taken two seconds to see the price, with the added benefit of scrolling through their current inventory list that conveniently has the price included on every vehicle. On the lookout for good deals, are you? Just stop. You aren't out to buy anything, so juss chill & watch the videos.

My dad bought a brand new white with black stripped 1970 Chevelle SS with a 396 in 1970. He gave it to me as my first car after some high performance build ups as my dad always had muscle cars till his passing. It was 1976 , I was 16 yrs old in high school with this beast. My second car was a beautiful 1968 GTO. Those were the good old days !

Firstly it’s a Beautiful car no doubt about it. I’ve owned so many Chevelle’s over the years and I’m currently building a 72. I kinda think it’s funny people get stuck on whether it’s a true SS or not. My current car isn’t and I could care less. My wife and I have owned 17 combined with 5 being real Super Sports. They didn’t drive any better than the Malibu’s. In fact the fastest one was a 72 Malibu. I never comment on these videos but I can’t stand it any longer. Anything over 30 is ridiculous, young people can’t even come close to owning one and will slowly lose interest in them all together. All because old men ( I’m old too) think their worth that. In the end all you have is the style and a piece of metal that will eventually rot away. Sickening

  • @ejp75

Damn fine car. I had a ‘70 Chevelle SS 454. White over black w/ black vinyl roof, black stripes. Options; RPO Z15- Turbo-Jet 454 LS6 Mark IV Big-Block engine. 450 HP, 500 Lb-Ft Torque (stock rating) w/800 CFM Holley 4 bbl Carb on Edelbrock High Rise Aluminum Intake. Hooker Ceramic coated Headers.
ZL2 - Cowl Induction Hood w/ Black stripe pkg. F41 - Heavy Duty Suspension.
M22 Muncie “Rock Crusher” 4 speed trans.
Hurst Super Shifter. 4.10:1 PosiTraction rear
This was a great car and the Option 10 Classic White w/ black vinyl roof was a rare car. It was my second hot rod, my first was a ‘69 Pontiac GTO 421 HO Ram Air IV motor that was worked on by Nunzi Romano (King of Pontiac) at Nunzi’s Automotive in Brooklyn NY. I loved that GTO. It was Warwick Blue w/black vinyl roof black interior, M22 4-speed. She was fast and the interior was nicer than the Chevelle. I was 17 in 1973 when my dad bought me the GTO from one of Nunzi’s mechanics, hence the 421 motor which didn’t come in the car stock. I’m in my mid 60’s now but I remember those cars like yesterday. Man we had some fast rides back then, not like the plastic crap they build today. I remember having to use Sunoco 260 gasoline it was like 75 cents a gallon. But you needed the high octane of high-test gas. (Premium). And it was leaded. The unleaded gas due to the new EPA emissions regulations killed performance starting in 1971. 1970 was the last year of real performance cars. And the 454 Chevelle SS was the fastest. It blew away hemi’s in the 1/4 mile, proven in the hot rod magazine tests at the time. And Ford couldn’t come close. Then ya had the Corvette L71 427 Tri-power. I had a ‘68 Corvette L71 convertible built up by Joel Rosen of Motion Performance in Baldwin Long Island. And then the 454 Corvette. That’s all for another blog. -Chevy Power-.

Tacked it in with a little rtv. Looks great, it can be cleaned, and a roll was like $20 at the local hardware store.

Thanks Kevin! We've remained extremely busy during these times. Just today we filmed 3 new vehicles from 9-11am & during that time Jay's cell phone rang 4 times, 12 text messages and interrupted by employees here twice. That doesn't count however many messages staff took for him from the business phone or emails that came in.
We've ordered some GoPro accessories that should hopefully let Jay just grab that & go on his own when he finds time. That is the direction we're trying to move, simpler test drive videos that Jay can do when he finds time.

You did see a lot more 69 SS Chevelles that where white over the years in Canada. I had a white 68 Firebird 400 4spd black interior..the common musclecar look in the 60s. It would have been the Pontiac version of this car or the Camaro. I paid the mind boggling price of $1700 back in 75. That car would get up and go! Sure wish I knew where that car was today. it would be worth about $45K today

What we get now a days r not cars but just a mode of transportation with no panache , do the people not have the flair to make such designs !!?? ....70s challengers , comeros , chevells , road runners , cudas etc . Without a numbers matching motor and trans what difference does it make if the build sheet shows it’s an original SS? Way over priced for a crate motor car

Correct. Everything else is wrong. Looks nice though

    • @ejp75
      @ejp75 Před 4 lety +1

Even so it’s still valuable as an original SS build. Too many of these clone cars out there trying to look like an SS. But a lot of these clone builders don’t know all of the details that are in a real SS car. So having build sheet verify it’s an SS car is a big deal, but whoever owned it ruined it by swapping in a crate motor. It’d be better to have the original motor and it would be better value. Even if they just built the original motor up. But having a non numbers matching built up big block, puts a rare paint car in with the rest of the modified cars. It would really be worth this price with the correct engine. But for someone who doesn’t care about full Authenticity then this is just a nice but over priced car. Ya got people throwing money into a car but they don’t really know what they’re doing. Hence the air cleaner sticker. Anybody can buy a crate motor and they still sell these reproduction stickers. What happened to the original motor? Why did they swap it and not rebuild it?

Ok but would you rather spend 70k on an original SS built car without the original motor or 30k on a very nicely put together “clone”? Yes it’s a very nice car but not for that price. 70k is approaching a factory original concourse car in my book.

Kind of strange..originally a 396..has a crate 502...yet the chrome air cover proudly states 454?? That’s almost intentionally confusing..should definitely get rid of that cover..why would that even be there?

For us to take a 1990s car it'd have to be exceptional & unique, so they don't come in all that often.
