• I RIDE A CZcamsR'S HO...
I don't think Rich gets enough love on this channel. He plays the role of cheerful antagonist very well. He's your plastic bag on a stick, and it's good for you to work with him.
What’s his channel name?
IDK ... I think Rich is pretty well-loved! His lesson commentary is outrageously hilarious. 😂 We laugh while we learn, but I'm glad it's Meg riding in front of him and not me, LOL! ❤
“It’ll be fine. He was just keen because he’d been freshly clipped.” Proceeds to bring out the most freshly clipped horse a I’ve ever seen. Lol
😂😂😂
Hilarious!!! lol
Who else just love the friendship between Meg and rich 😂😂😂 also, happy end of vlogmas
Rich and Meg videos are the best! ❤
I just love Rich. 'Any advice?' 'Take up knitting' 😂😂😂
HAHAHA!!
So happy you’re ending this vlogmas on an episode with Rich 🥳 Nothing better to end the perfect mix of characters in the episodes before than our favourite, sassy but supportive dressage instructor 🤗
😅
“He’s an ex eventer so you can wiggle the bit all you want” 😆😆 edited to add: you have a very good way of figuring things out. He demands a lot of you and you might take a minute to sort out what he’s saying but you persist until you get it. Nicely done.
"No, that's big trot" was my FAVORITE video from last vlogmas 😂❤
When I saw we were closing out this year with Rich, I was totally convinced the sponsor on the video was going to be Big Trot 🤣
It says a lot about you as a rider that you can get on such a wide variety of horses and get good tune. Very kind and feeling rider. I had dressage horses for 20 years and school masters are a blessing and a curse! They know so much but also are trained in someone else’s aids and know exactly how to get out of what’s being asked, but he seems a generous horse. Well done you! Next year back in Richs other horse ❤
I'm honestly so buzzed for Rich to meet Bear. It's going to be so interesting.
Same💙
Bear? 😳 Who's Bear? Which episode is Bear on? A horse called Bear😮 where's my 🍿
I’m pretty sure he’s taught her for years (bear badminton days)!
@@sheliafoster3147she has had bear for ages! She’s just had a foal. Such a cool horse
So great to see Rich again! And to be fair to you, my dressage trainer tells a story about her sensitive PSG dressage horse (not even GP like Otis). She had another dressage trainer who had legs like Rich ride him once. Her horse acted up the whole time because of the difference in where their leg aids fell.
MY FINGERS HAVE NEVER CLICKED ANYTHING FASTER 😂😊❤
SAMEE
Same! ❤
FR 😂❤
Right?!??🤣
SAME ❤
So excited to see Rich in action again. Also that extended trot was absolutely insane, took until the slomo to see why, the little show off flick even when he's still inches off the ground! He must really enjoy his work
I am obsessed with his toe flicks ❤
Vlogmas with Rich are my absolute favourite! He is so talented and just a little bit sharp. KC is a very talented and beautiful boy. What an amazing treat it must be to ride all of those talented and well-trained horses, Meg. I am living vicariously through you. You are braver than you think, Meg, to take all this on. Thank you so much for taking us along. Happy New Year.
I truly ADORE Rich! His humor coupled with his amazing instruction is perfect. He's so attentive to what's going on and helping you be your best. You are blessed to have him as your instructor. 💕
Meg: "Rich is a familiar face on the channel-"
Rich (under his breath in the background): "'I'm not familiar, I'm just slightly presumptuous!'"
(Apologies to Terry Pratchett; it was too good a line not to borrow here, lol)
A really great lesson from lovely Rich 🤩What a privilege to ride such a beautiful, talented horse. Well done Meg xx
Rich is my favourite supporting actor on this channel - he's a scream!
"Have you watched any of Vlogmas?" "No." That just sent me 🤣
Supporting actor 😂😂
I never enter raffles, but if there were one for a lesson with Rich, I'd absolutely go for it (as long as US residents were allowed).
I second that but for Canada 🇨🇦 ❤😂
As someone who's not as experienced or good of rider as Meg, and who gets to ride an upper level dressage horse, it's INCREDIBLY challenging. To ride a horse who is so off your seat and aids and who has buttons you don't even know exist is NOT easy. It's very challenging because they're so in tune to little changes in your body weight or leg that you don't always notice yourself. Very well done and well ridden, Meg.
I can't believe a year has gone by already!! And you have improved SO MUCH Meg! The problems with the big boy last year weren't really your fault. He is trained to such a highly specific and detailed level that it was confusing for him to try to make out your "riding accent" and obviously frustrating for him... And so i dont know if your host was aware that his horse was so locked on to specific aids being so detailed and precise. What I'm saying is...this isn't uncommon with horses ridden by one person for a while to have trouble when a new rider comes along. ❤❤❤
I had a horse who refused to move forward with young riders if he felt them sway too much or have trouble staying with his motion. He once refused to walk with a girl who went to the national barrel racing finals on her horse.😂 She moved too much in the saddle for him to be sure she wasnt saying whoa. ❤❤❤
Meg did really well last year and this year. I probably would have burst into tears with Otis. Mostly due to feeling like I was ruining him. This episode went much better. Meg is such a good sport! ❤
Had to come back to ask "Rich, is there any chance KC would like to go eventing again?" What a fabulous boy he is 🥰
KC hasn't evented since he was 10. He worried about the jumping sufficiently that it gave him ulcers. I'm sure he could have operated at lower levels of eventing, but we thought, since the dressage was so good, that he should focus on pure dressage instead
The funniest vlogmas vid. The one with Otis last year was also my fave. Who says dressage is boring 😂 or easy! As a dressage rider, I’m pleased these videos show how not easy it is 😅
You look amazing on him!! Also love the friendship you have with Richard.
Rich is an absolute doll, what a wonderful eye for what you're doing in the saddle and he's really on top of giving you ques and communicating to you what's needed. Spectacular lesson. I could feel your cogs turning registering what was happening and trying to deliver what he was guiding you to. I don't care for instructors who don't ever chase their riders weak spots, he's a darling about it but he doesn't let you go a stride without understanding you've done something wrong and then telling you how to fix it. I watched your leg and seat change from the beginning of that to the end of it and I could tell you were getting flustered in places but his energy and yours just worked to keep you on task. What a brilliant horse too! Fabulous video, I'm an instructor and I just love watching good lessons happen!!
This isn't a good lesson tho. The extended trot was forced. When a horse flick it's toe it means there is too much stress on the body which hurts the horse. This version of the "extended trot" was done by folk in higher championships and it influenced the industry. This isn't how dressage works this kind of movements will cause the horse pain.
I love the banter between you and Rich, always has me in stitches🤣
What a gorgeous horse and you rode amazingly. Sad Vlogmas is over but what a great way to end it!
I love Rich's sense of humour and training method. KC is a brilliant schoolmaster! Very well done Meg. 👏👏👏
I love rich, his laugh makes me smile every time, what a dude!
I must say when Rich features in a video I know it's going to be a good one LMAO
Definitely my favourite videos from vlogmas both this year and last year
A great end to vlogmas. Rich is both hilarious and a great instructor. I can't help but see Mr Bean....😂
Quietly he is very proud of you. He likes your horses, but wouldn't admit that.....😅
Happy New Year to all at Elphick Event Ponies.
My legs and hands were squeezing and moving with you 😂
It's not easy but you are nailing it! Richard is amazing and the horse is too! Well matched this year, perhaps you could ride Otis again Christmas 2024 to see how far you have come? 😂❤
I love watching Rich teach you, and would like to see more videos of him teaching you.
OMG! I absolutely love this guy as a dressage trainer! And the rapport that you two have is hilarious! I think you did a fantastic job on this horse! Good on you!🎉🎉🎉❤
OMG that was hilarious, almost as good as last time! You 2 bounce off each other so well, I love his style of teaching. Can't wait to see 'it' pulling some of those moves!
I'm so grateful for Vlogmas as a rider myself getting into eventing 5.5 years into my riding career, I always learn so much and it is so reassuring to see people so much more experienced losing and then working hard to gain their confidence back. Thank you for all that you do! My #1 favorite CZcamsr going into 2024
"im not putting a twist in , just stretch your legs" 😂 what a doll the horse was !
‘I’m doing it Rich’ 😂😂😂😂😂 this was one of my favourites! Amazing to watch and what a fab horse. Loved watching you develop on him and you looked so pro by the end! ❤
😂😂😂
Otis just knew his opponent in you and completely took you for a ride! I love Rich he's a super radical candour tutor and he really spits truth. I would love to ride with him. And as to calling things it, my daughter is still often it ! 🤣
I've never appreciated a slo-mo shot more than during that extended trot! Getting a good look at how Casey was using his body and distributing his weight was actually fascinating 🤩
I LOVE the compilation of "it" comments from the Wilma video! 😂😂😂
This was a fabulous video to end the year on! Rich is the most entertaining/brutal/hilarious instructor, LOL! Does anyone know if the footing in Rich's arena is rubber mulch? ❤
That extended trot was just incredible, his little toes flicking❤
the extended trot was not a real trot. The toe flick is caused by too much stress on the body. This is the abusive form of a extended trot.
@@Chocolateicecream22 facts.
You rode him lovely, and this instructor is amazing 😂 i love the relationship you have together
I love all the Vlogmases, but Rich has to be my favourite, it’s laugh and learn the whole way!
GREAT LESSON!!!! As a dressage person, this is the one I am most envious of! I've gotten the opportunity to ride a few schoolmasters over the years and man, what an amazing experience it is. You really see what all the fuss is about and WHY what everyone has always harped about (outside rein, collection, etc.) actually works.
More Rich dressage lessons with your ponies please!!!
I finally got around to watching the infamous "WUT RU DOING WITH YER HAANDS?!" intro video this morning, so this is a nice surprise to see you finishing up vlogmas with Rich again. After all the kicks and bucks and, bless you, struggles with the canter, I'm kind of glad to see you're on a new horse for this one xD
Thank you for a wonderful Vlogmas. I have to admit, you riding Otis was my favourite vlog from last year, and this is my favourite from this year - followed my Simon riding Winnie. Already looking forward to next years!
Just discovered this part 2 and the part 1 vids, I absolutely love the slow mo clips against fantastic choice of music. So entertaining and informational at the same time. Rich has a great way of being able to communicate the physics of the horse's movement and the way to achieve those movements in a way that riders (and non-riders!) can understand perfectly well. I'm sure I'm not the only one who thinks this should turn into a regular series ;-) Looking forward to many more. (final note: love that Rich acknowledged that Otis tried to kick him in part 1 lol, what a stinker Otis was that day!)
Rich is such a fun person 🎉. The two of you keep me laughing 😂 Happy New Year everyone 🎉
WOW!!! What an AMAZINGLY talented horse! Absolutely loved seeing all those fancy moves 😁 and Meg, you done amazing! I mean, Rich said ‘well done’ so it must be true 😂 x
It wouldn't be vlogmas without Rich ❤ he needs a regular slot 😁
“I’m doing it Rich” made me laugh out loud 😂 what a fun vlog ❤
Loved it! I think Rich is more pleased with Wilma than he initially let on (although he was very complimentary about her!), suggesting that she’s got some actual dressage talent there. It was fun watching some of the things click with you Meg, and remembering that moment when you’re like ‘ohhhh, that’s what that’s supposed to feel like!’ - so much easier to take it home to your own horse once you’ve felt it on a schoolmaster. Good boy KC! He did indeed have a great extended trot - really engaged hind end.
Lovely to watch you & Rich together lovely horse well ridden xx
Happy new year Meg!!! Can’t wait to go through another year watching all of you videos, love you!! ❤❤❤
Even though I always love watching this channel, I don't know anything about horses and mostly I never know what anyone is talking about - especially dressage. For a non-horsey person, this was actually extremely informative and enjoyable to have it broken down so clearly!! Looks like fun!
Hi Meg, You Smashed it girl !!!! When I watched last years vlogmas I didn't think you would better it, but hey you jolly well did. What an amazing series, Hats off to you Meg you did amazing. Such an informative series all the pro's, all the brilliant horses such fun. Can't wait to see what you will do next year to top this one ??? Lots of love to all. Jill Birmingham U.K. XXXXX
Yes, Meg is brilliant with her insanely strong drive to improve!❤❤❤ And she seems to retain instructions and be able to really implement them very well!❤❤❤
So happy for her!
He is brilliant and what a gorgeous horse !!! Perfect size for you 👍
I feel like people really underestimate how hard dressage is. Pay attention to and minutely control every part of your and your horse's body every second. No big deal 😆
I always really enjoy your videos, but you and Rich together sorting out your dressage skills, well...just the best! Happy New Year! xx
I think Rich is hilarious, I laughed from beginning to end. Have a wonderful new year Meg and family xx
I love rich 🤣🤣 can’t wait to watch this!
Transitions are where the horse must rely more on you to keep it smooth and in balance. You must be smooth and in stride and accurate in your aids in transitions. The rest of the ride is just consistency and the athleticism the horse has to show the judge ( if you have trained for consistency together enough). This lesson was priceless. Rich is a master of coaching you through it all, he has a consistent training method with adjustments to meet each individual pair. You are learning in leaps and bounds what to put into practice at home. Congrats. I love watching you progress! Another great vlogmas.
I love Rich! Funny and not afraid to say what he thinks!!! Way to go Meg…passage and pirouette and holy extended trot!!!
Absolutely LOVE videos with Rich. The are very entertaining, and I feel that I learn so much from his instruction and watching Meg ride.
Been waiting for this one! I had a suspicion it was coming so 3 days ago I watched last years dressy video
This is epic! Love watching your face as the moves come off. What a dude of a pony too. Rich is a great trainer
The best kind of therapy - Rich never fails to amuse 😂
Another cracking video of the two of you. Must have watched the Otis one 5+ times. And whilst there was no near-death drama here - some very lovely riding Meg.
You’re so lucky to work with some of the best, but it’s clear you put the hard graft in, so best of luck to you ❤
Rich : what are you doing?!
This is majestic.
So glad Rich came back. Love the banter between you two.
It's definitley the most humbling experience for an equestrian to get on a big dressage horse as a jumper when u get into trot.. hahah i have felt that feeling i was sitting there thinking "did i just forget how to ride or something??" I felt like i was gonna bounce out of the saddle and was wondering if i was doing something wrong 😅 then i checked the video and was like what?? Doesn't look bouncy at all..
That extended trot is almost making me tear up 😭 Well done Meg!
Watching this again and I just love that Meg goes from being pale and nervous to her little pure joyful giggles while doing dressage movements and KC is the real MVP being so genuine
So glad to see Rich I think he's the best! So funny and very interesting to listen to as well.
My hubby is called Rich too so I love hearing his name!
Please keep doing more lessons with Rich on fantastic dressage horses please!
Lots of love from Liz in Lancashire xxx 🐴🎠🐎♥️
Absolutely well ridden Meg dressage horses are hard to ride you rode incredibly well and I love Rich he's an excellent riding instructor ❤happy new year lovely and thankyou for all your hard work and your amazing team who without it wouldn't be possible to bring us all the fantastic content ❤
Reel idea: just clips cut together of you gushing over all the horses you've ridden :D "he's so cool, oh my word I love him" and so on!
At this point I think Rich is trying his absolute best to kill you 😂😅
Love this, Meg, you grew so much more comfortable on KC as the ride went on! Great to see you learning so much, I bet it’ll be so helpful in bringing Wilma on!
Love Rich
He's like Mr. Bean, but a string bean and twice the sass!
Love Rich. Love his sense of humour. Last year’s video of Otis was my favourite video ever! It does show how much work goes into a dressage horse and all the buttons that are developed to be so sensitive yet subtle. . If you don’t ask the correct question they you won’t get an accurate answer. Love that it shows to non horse folk that you don’t just ‘kick to go and pull to stop!’
The editing in this vlog is superb 🤣🙌🏻 the flash backs are killing me 😂
Fun to watch. Made me inspired to go out in the cold and ride my guy who is trying to get back into light work after some on and off lameness.
As a dressage rider, you two had we howling, this is equine comedy at its best!! I think you should take this show on the road!! I was working so hard along with you, I got my kitchen chair to do a couple of Tempi two's and a pirouette !! lol
It’s amazing that I learn so much while laughing so hard. I just love Rich! He’s a gem.
Your vlogmas 2023 have been fantastic Meg. Wishing you, Pete, Hobbit and family a very Happy New Year.
You look great on KC Meg! Loved this video (especially you and Rich’s banter😂)
OMG, Rich is hilarious yet so knowledgeable ! Kudos to you Meg for riding all those different horses. Very educational as well as entertaining. Happy New Year!
I have been watching this on repeat! I’m a dressage rider and this lesson was SO helpful for everything I’m working on with my horse right now. Thank you!!
Great vlogmas Meg amazing effort to put it all together and the final one just brillant love Rich you two work so well together. Wish he was my instructor 🤗
Huge fan of Rich! 😊👍 He explains dressage the way even we eventers get it. 🤭
what an amazing horse! I was genuinely so mesmerized with the extended trot!
'Im doing it Rich!' Hahaha you are Meg!
OMG. My entire stomach and leg muscles were flexing for each rein change. Amazing! Richard is awesome! I think he needs to come to the US and do some lessons…. 😁❤️❤️❤️
Loved this years vlogmas. Starting with Simon and ending with Richard it was ALL GREAT! Thank you for all you vlog. Note: your music selection and video work has been excellent. Kudos to Pete. Stay safe. Happy New Year to All at Elphick yard. 💙🐎😎 See you next year!
Always fabulous when you and Rich get together!!
Just came to check who it was and cannot wait to watch this morning I love watching you and rich togther so funny …. All the best for 2024 ❤
Happy new year! I just want to say you are my favorite equestrian youtuber that I know. Your videos are well made and funny at times. Your outfits are just so cute! Have a great 2024.
Well done Meg!
You should be proud of how far you've come.
I love rich
everyone needs a friend like him!
Watching for the third time so good it would be lovely if you could do a regular vlog with this boy with you learning more advanced dressage on a horse that knows all the movements and Rich explains it so well xx
