I always thought the concept of this show was some fever dream I cooked up as a child, but no, this totally existed, I remember this opening credits sequence. I can't believe it ran for 4 years, dear god.
Just listening to this theme makes me so happy and nostalgic. What an awesome TV show! They just don't make them like this anymore! I really wish they would release the rest of the series on DVD!!!

I remember my parents watching it when I was a kid. About 10 years ago I went back and rewatched as much as I could and online it's actually very amazing show.
My brother and I would flip through the channels at my grandmas house and whenever we'd land on this we'd just stop what we were doing and watch it. We were only like 8 but we were hooked on it
There was a Studio in cicero Illinois and a few of the places that were recorded was the Chicago sun times building, Navy Pier, and downtown Chicago and Lincoln Park.
technically it's not knowing what will happen tomorrow, but rather what could happen today (though You know what will be printed on a newspaper tomorrow). This is why I see the fourth opening as the best one. I literally get chills with these openings (especially the last one).
12:00 this afternoon, I so will be watching a marathon of early edition on the decades network. a while back ago on the decades network, they actually showed a marathon of Hill Street blues. It was for father's day and it was great to see that series again after all these years.
Gary is one of the most wholesome heroes ever, like, on the level of (old school) Superman or MCU Captain America, minus the fists. I mean, dude was spamming Talk-No-Jutsu at all the villains before Naruto was even born

That would be the most awkward moment on the show. The show ended in 2000 but imagine it had kept going. For the record the Chicago Sun Times had 1 regular edition on 9/11 and two extra editions. So he would be reading the regular edition(🤔) deciding who to save for the day and then look at the two extra editions(😲😨) and realise he's got to get to NY or DC fast.
The entire cast was excellent but Kyle was brilliant. He was perfect in that role. His demeanour and his interraction with the other cast members was pitch perfect.
The premise of the show is quite good, and the fact that it ran for four seasons, shows just how people were less afraid to take a chance on certain shows that were not as conventional as the rest of the programming back then. It's just a shame that they never got to have a proper series finale (I mean, I didn't dislike the idea that it is explained in it, but they could have explored it a little better, if you ask me).

The reason Gary Hobson and his crew couldn't prevent 9/11 from happening was that the final first run episode of Early Edition was on May 27, 2000. They canceled the show about a year and a half too soon!!! Maybe they had to cancel Early Edition because the ginger cat that brought the newspaper to Gary every morning got lazy or died.
9/11 was never depicted on the show because it was cancelled in 2000, a whole year before 9/11 happened. And even if the show had lasted longer, they may not have done a 9/11 episode. It could probably just be assumed that the show takes place in a different "universe" than ours, where 9/11 didn't happen.
