I used to run 2 different tires, also. Skinny in the back to get moving quicker with a wider knobby tire in the front for steering. Used that set up for Racing and trails. Times have changed though. Lol
Another great video. I keep seeing a bunch of tubeless mtb tire videos pop up.
cool video. i have 2.25 odyssey paths but I want to get 1.85 maxxis soon
i love having chunky tires, removes the gap for foot jams. i run a 2.4 fit faf on the back and a 2,4 odyssey hawk on the front. the fit faf is a good inbetween for street and dirt and the hawk is a really grippy tire on the street
I use tioga streetblock tyres in 2.25, mainly ride park but occasionally dirt and street. Really wish they made this tyre in 2.35-2.4
When you said yâall rode dirt and street that was the same with us growing up sometimes we didnât really care and rode whatever we had then it was just fun hanging with the guys
I was a BMX rider forever and the worst thing I seen come from tires was the half street half knobby tires.... I slid out and got hurt so many times I stopped riding them and went w/ high psi street tires. I love 2.2 120psi tires and I always will... I'd run it a little lower and they never pinched or rolled off like 2.4 low psi tires I've had recently.
Bmx companies are a joke, honestly.
Which tires are you talking about that are so bad?
I run the Eclat Morrow 2.4... I only got them cos the shop had run out of the tyres I ordered, the Cult x Vans waffle tyre, but they seem to be great
Im currently running Animal GLH 20x2.3" at 45 PSI both front & rear, I ride on street all of the time. I think I picked a right one.
I have the Primo Ritcher 2.4 front and rear. Love them. But they donât make them anymore so the next time Iâll get Animal GLH.
I just bought a bmx bike, thanks for your very informative video uwu
I ride street tires on dirt, gives me the best traction.
Shut up
Lol just kidding
@@brodydawson6200 he prolly isnât đđœ
Are you kidding or not?
use both
Just ordered some rant squad tires so exited to put them on
Skinnier rear tire. With higher pressure and a faster rolling design. Wider grippier front tire with less air.
Adds built in suspension without giving up too much rolling speed. And adds a bit of extra grip up front if you do hit dirt occasionally. But also means foot jams and Vader scuffs don't murder your tires as fast.
I run the Merritt Phantom's and I LOVE them!
I realy want them tires but im worried there to wide lol.are they realy that wide ?
@@benjiize they are, beware.
Actually Iâve seen a lot of dudes riding dirt with street tires. Everything is usually so smooth and kept up you donât need traction. I donât ride dirt so I canât say form personal but thatâs what Iâve noticed from watching riders. Like Iâve seen quite a few people ride dirt with the Cult Fast and Loose tire.
What about schwalbe big Ben?
I'm running BSD Donnasqeaks 2.4 Alex's signature tire.
I plan on getting maxxis grifters in 20x2.40 soon. Iâm currently running the stock kink sever tires no hate on them but they arenât my personal preference.
I got a Sunday scout! Whatâs the best dirt tire brand? I live in the country here in Texas lmk
Eclat Mirage 2.35 Foldables
I have the cult/vans in 2.4. I like them. Grippy but donât slow you down. I just went up from 2.2ish tires & I was surprised how different the width made.
I rode the animal ASM way back in the day, really wish they would bring them back
I too have the cult vans 2.40 tyres but they are slippy for our parks. Switching back to demolition momentum cause they grip better
@@averageslytherinperson6154 Iâve ridden with people who have those & love them. I switched to odyssey path pro & they are grippy as hell !
@@ryanoconnell6617 i like the odyssey s too. But having rode on demolition about 2 years ago, they felt way better than vans and i m just waiting them to arrive
Odd/aitken 2.125 front & odd/atkin 1.90 (20's).
Whats the best fast rolling 20x1.95 tire?
Atm I use a tall order wall ride 2.35 front I find it too grippy bug itâs good all round street dirt park and maxxis rear m-tread rear 2.20 and itâs ages old park and street not so much dirt but skids under load turning very hard waring tyre itâs took many of hard slams đ
I think specialized should make a 20inch 2bliss tires for bmx.
So can I run a 2.35 on a 2.3 rim?
I used to run that same tire ratio ,dirt n street.
Have you tried elcat creature tires
If my rim is 1.75.
Does anybsize tire fit it or is it only compatable to 1.75??
Did you say Alienation might have ACME Carbon colors in the works?
I ride the Odyssey Dugan tires
My BMX has a dirt tire at front and street tire at back aswell
i suggest demolition momentums, very versatile and stable on every surface. also very light lol
Thanks for the suggestion! I'll check it out :)
How about tires for mags such as Sky tuffs? Some brands center better than others.
Fly bikes Ruben tiresđđŒ
I ride 24 x 2.5 maxxxis hookworms but I heard they are getting rid of them. What is a good alternative?
I have the same size on my Gt Pro Series 24 "
They are Gt Smoothies 24x2.5
Pretty awesome all around tire ! So I'm guessing that 1 replace the ones that you have now
I would like something lighter , with a little more tread for wet/ muddy roads đ
I'm running maxis grifter front and rear on my BMX and I'm running schwalbe big Ben front and rear on my DJ. If they had schwalbe big Ben or tabletops in 20" I would run them on BMX too.
Wow
Please tell me about big Ben. Which size and are you satisfied? Are they fast or heavy and slow?
Are big Ben real fast? And will they be fine in dirt and mountain?
@@magnumllama400 the big Ben tyres are fast. They're pretty comparable to the Odyssey Aitkin, grip and durability wise. I run the green guard version
@@andrewsiasparks how heavy, what about dirt? How fast and what's like accelerating from stop
I like a slick tire great at rolling fast but donât ever hit a wet or oily patch cause you lose all traction.
Any bike tire will go down on wet and oily patch because they're shit
Is 20x1.95 good for tricks?
@mikefede do more archive footage!
Donna squeak 2.4 on the front Mac two tire 2.2 on the rear
I have a bmx bike and it comes with a 1.75 but i was wondering if i can change it to a 1.95
More volume feels good to me- I say do it, if your chainstays have the room. Which riders do you look to for inpiration? What do they use? I'm looking at Jared Graves and Barry Nobles- I see Nobles uses 1.95 front and 1.75 rear, if memory serves; I'm looking at Holy Rollers as a good compromise between dirt and street, for all around speed and flow, and puncture resistance. I like how they break away progressively, when taking a turn past the limit. The Hookworms, too- They're amazing on the street. Heavy, but they absolutely haul ass and turn on rails... and progressively break away and recover predictably. Anyway! I hope your season's off to a strong and healthy start.
All I wanna know is what grips slick metal ramps
I ride maxxis grifter 2.1 for park riding no dirt or street
What about schwalbe big Ben?
I'm looking for a pair of used old school tan wall Tioga Comp Pool III tires in black. How much should I expect to pay? Thanks!
No reply lol
@@brodydawson6200 You replied! Lol
Can somebody help me,my brother have a bmx 20x2.30 tires, and he want to order new tires only avail. is 20x2.40 and 20x1.95.which one do you think guys will fit his bike, btw he have mags instead of rim.thank you!
if my tires are 20-2.35 can i use 20-2.4 tires on it
i ran a 1.75 front and rear. I rode a 2.125 once and hated it. I raced and rode trails so I would run conventional Knobby tires and maxxis max daddy's
1.75? the grip is enough for asphalt pump track? bmx and 26 dirt bike?(both)
Whatâs the width of your frame ?
what tire can i use daily?
I feel like the 2.4 won't fit. Are bikes design different these days I have a GT from 1988. Also if you have brakes?? Are there new brakes?
I'm running 2.4s on an older BMX (don't know the make or year, it's definitely heavy and old-school though) and it does fit, but I have about 1/4" clearance or less to the brake arms and frame. If you can do a tight setup it works, but if you anticipate bent rims it will be frustrating. I just cruise and do drops and have 48-spoke wheels so it's less of a concern. Also, maybe obvious but wait until the wheel is secured before fully inflating it, you'll spend less time resetting your brakes.
That 195 looks like a schwinn scrambler tire lol
Riding WTP trust with 2.35âs
Aitken dirt on front demotion machete on rear!
Yo uso llantas animal una MTT 2.35 front and rear a animal ASM 2.25
Primo dirt monsters for trials , primo vmonsters for street and park
Send some of those maxes tires
I run bsd donnastreets never failed me but not ideal for dirt
Odyssey Aitkens

On my bmx I have 2.3 and 2.2
this video is all over the place
Bike Tire 16" x 2.125
You didn't talk about TPI and it's importance.
I ride a 43 pound 2003 pro team condor on Alex supra g 48 primo 1.95 85 psi , also have and use hb rotators and skidmarks all in 1.95 but they all 120 psi , when I land flat no squish rims. Call it blow em up fu*k off hard đ
Riding Theory 2.4"
Bro what's bmx prize
2.4's are too damn big. 2.2 is kind of my ideal size, but I'm currently running 2's since it's the only ones I can find in blue w/ tan skinwalls
Rim need to be lined up in the frame
I just want 2.5 hookworms :(
Too bad that don't make the maxis rizzer anymore
Amateurs I'm riding 1.74 in front and 1.95 back
Tioga Comp III 1.75 front 1.5 rear or gtfo.
Knurling not curling
đđżââïž
Me who rides 2.8
1.95s roll way slower. Your friend doesn't use proper pressure. No one in bmx does. The tires and rims aren't even designed for how people use them. Look at how often trials riders get flats compared to street bmxers. Also that's why everyone went brake less. Bmx brakes are a joke. Trials bikes are so much better.
1.95 is faster then 2.4 etc because there's less rubber touching the ground. (Less friction)
if trial bike is better do a 360 manual on it)
I get a flat literally every time I take my bike on the street and it's starting to piss me TF off
What's the point of your symbol in your hat? is this racism, or just hatred?
Itâs the American flag! It stands for neither of what you mentioned. Go kick some rocksđ€Łâđœđșđž
@@MikeFede Just say what it really means: "The White Live Matters" symbol of racism and division. You dared to wear it... but you slow to accept? here kicking some rocks đŠ¶đđ€Ł
The American flag represents all nationalities and if it represents racism why do millions of people from other countries and nationalities want to come here? and what does this have to do with bike tires ? I'm glad you judge people by color jackass..
is 1.75 tire good for bmx?
No. Too narrow, too high pressure required. Even if you go to their minimum pressure lesser suspension will wear parts faster, especially the wheels. You will also feel every jump more.
