- I can't believe it's already time for another 2 month skincare review! Continuing through my list of most requested brands, this summer I decided to tackle Ole Henriksen. The brand went through a face lift over the past couple years and I realized there were so many new products I hadn't tried and sadly some old faves that were discontinued, but this was a great way to get reacquainted with Ole! Stay tuned to hear my in-depth thoughts on my routine, see some before and after photos and find out what products I think are worth repurchasing.

My skin is currently oily-combination and my skin and eyes are both extremely sensitive. My number one concerns that I try to target in my routine are dullness & hyper pigmentation left over from my severe cystic acne, and the occasional hormonal breakout. I did take Accutane in 2016 so my skin type has fluctuated a lot, so if you watch past videos of my mine and I describe my skin type differently, that’s why!

To all the Danish people commenting I’m saying Ole Henriksen wrong: I worked for Sephora and the national educator for the brand taught us to pronounce it this way! Sorry if it’s wrong but y’all can stop telling me now lol everyone in North America pronounces it “Olay henrdrikson” so what’s worse??? at least the way I was taught is closer 🤷🏻♀️
As a dane, I must say that this is the best I’ve ever heard a non-native speaker of danish pronounce his name, so don’t mind people telling you off for pronouncing it wrong, most of us are aware that danish words and names can be really tricky to pronounce xx

I'd love to see CeraVe! That brand has a lot of gems and really has helped my super sensitive skin. I think everyone could use a little CeraVe in their skin care routine :'D

The Retin-ALT cream is one of the best I have ever used. My skin looked better overnight. I never saw a change so fast with any other product before. Also, I don't think I have ever seen a brand make your skin glow so much.

I found this video in my recommended videos. I have lots to say about this so buckle up. 😆
1. I have repurchased the Truth Serum about 4 or 5 times. I have dry skin with my nose being oily so I don’t know whether to consider that combo haha. Any time I go without using the serum my skin will definitely let me know. The texture on my skin comes back (lower cheek area) and it just doesn’t look as bright.
2. I purchased a kit of mini deluxe samples and I already finished up the eye cream. It is so so good! I have hereditary dark circles and it has worked on brightening the eye area. Funny enough the light consistency that you didn’t like much is something that makes me love this eye cream. I really don’t like heavy feeling eye creams, especially for morning use. This is very light weight feeling and for that reason it has been my favorite I’ve tried. If you are looking for a dupe I bought the Earth to Skin Super Fruits Banana Brightening eye cream and it has been very comparable! I got it from the Walmart app for less than $10
3. The Banana primer was a pass for me. I was hoping it would give me the glow that the Becca Backlight priming filter does but with the Vitamin C benefits but unfortunately it did none of that. I find it doesn’t brighten much nor moisturize. Instead it leaves my skin feeling very dry and flat and like you, it separates my makeup. I’ll keep using my beloved backlight priming filter instead.
With that said, i think your progress photos showed how much more bright and clear this skincare made your skin! I bought the green bottled toner on recommendation of Desi Perkins but I think once I finish that up I will try the blue one you used. Today I have my orientation day because I am starting school to become an esthetician so I am super glad I found your channel. You gained a new subscriber!

Ole is reformulating to be a fully clean brand. So you may see some products that have been discontinued come back in a clean version soon!
Ole used to have a CC cream with SPF that was my go to for years, and then they discontinued it. Really hope they bring it back! It was one of my favorite products ever.
I ❤️ this series and appreciate the time you put into them. I like the idea of cutting it down to 6 weeks so you can review more brands. I know you’re working through some of the more “popular” brands but I would love to see you review some K-beauty brands in 2020. Innisfree is Korean and just launched in Sephora. They have a decent product line that includes all the essential products: cleanser, toner, essence, wash off and sleeping masks, etc. CosRx is another great K-beauty line that is more on the affordable side and has a lot of product offerings, many of which are available online at Ulta. But whatever you do, I’ll definitely enjoy watching 🥰

I saw him on a talk show in 1985, he was pushing his skin care book, which I own, the book has recipes for all the products in his skin care line....I made them and used them but went on to use other products. It doesn't surprise me that your skin looks this beautiful after using his products.

I Love Ole Henriksen products! They are worth the price and they work. I have used most of the Orange products - foam cleanser, serum, moisturizer, and eye cream, etc. I use some of the blue products for overnight rejuvenation. I recently tried the Phat Glow Facial. It worked well for me. Great skin care line. It is worth the price.

Sounds like an interesting brand that I've heard mixed reviews on, my only concern would be anything fragrant in it. My skin is super sensitive that even coconut use in products cause me to breakout or turn super red.
I have the toner and I love it. Is pretty strong and the first two days I got a little irritated but after that it's been ok. Is also my first O. H product I try. Now, after your review I wanna try the serum and maybe the banana eye cream but I am afraid that will cause me milia.

Banana bright eye cream is magic ,it worked superb in just one day.
try Acure dual phase bakuchiol and eggplant serum it's nice :) I only suggest it because it's got the bakuchiol.

I loved your video. So very helpful. I definitely want to try the toner and Phat Glow. I use the Find Your Balance Oil Control facewash. Really like it. Feels very fresh and the scent is a nice minty smell. I use the C-Rush gel cream. Were you thinking of trying that one sometime ? I'd love to hear how it worked for you. I also use the Banana Bright eye cream. I have not had a reaction to it. Really like it as well. Of course the Truth Serum is a staple in my routine. I'm so happy you liked his products too. I hated the Ren toner & the Biossance line. However, I have extremely dry, acne prone, sensitive skin.
How can anyone dislike this video(to the one person that did, cough cough), you put so much effort into these reviews and we appreciate it x i ordered the blueberry bounce cleanser from Glow Recipe and i did not like it, so stripping, also the fresh strawberry facial scrub was too gentle, have you tried the glow recipe watermelon moisturiser?
Aww thank you! I've tried the watermelon overnight mask - it's the only product I've tried from Glow Recipe so far and I really wasn't a fan! It feels like pure silicone, so bleh for a night cream/overnight mask lol
Very information. Ill have to try out the ole eye bright mentioned - as I’m constantly on the hunt for my ideal eye cream.
I’ve been hearing about that alternative retinol ingredient lately I literally had to google what it was and targeted for (the Inkey also has one)
Two brands I’d love to see you do a test and review of are
1. Consonant. They are Canadian made and now available at Sephora online in the clean category. Love to see how they measure up to some of the other clean brands and products you’ve covered (and especially since they are Canadian they understand our varying weather seasons). They seem to be in the mid-range price point (one of their products may be on the luxury priced side)
Secondly but the inkey (available at shoppers in Canada and I hear they are also at Sephora in the US). They seem to have a similar concept to The Ordinary being affordable and no frills active ingredient line.

I was tempted to get this toner until I saw the price. $45 for a toner? It would have to be magic in the bottle. I will try the derma e though I think.
kind of glad to hear I wasn't the only one to get a rash with the eye cream!! was so sad because I was really hoping for a nice result! Oh well - my mom is enjoying it now!! hahah
Unfortunately it seems semi common, so you're definitely not alone!
Will you try some more unknown brands? I think it's worth a shot to see how the formulas of the way smaller and newer brands hold up to the tried and true giants!
I'm working through a list of the most requested brands and naturally people want to hear about the typically more expensive and popular brands to know if they're actually worth the money/hype, but if something sparks my interest I wouldn't be opposed to it!

I just bought the Glo Cycle Alt Retinol serum and I also had a reaction. My whole face swelled up and I got a rash of tiny white head type bumps all over the lower half of my face.
Same thing im going going through how long did it last ??

How much % of vitamin C does the serum contain? This brand has fragrance in it. Isnt fragrance bad for the skin?
