I hope the bed also has a manually operated hand crank system.
Would be a real drag to have a dead battery and then not be able to get your bedroom to come down from the ceiling

You worry too much. Like this ridiculously expensive van with multiple power systems is going to end up with a dead battery. if it does you've bigger problems than where you're going to sleep tonight.
The real question is how much money to buy this van?

Absolutely! The only disadvantage is missing space for hanging closets. But.. this should gives space behind front seats for additional closets.

@@PartnerthedogNot really, as you still need space for the matresse during the use of the dinette. And like now the bed is always ready to use. 😉

what I like is you can still keep stuff on table. that only makes life easier. I hate fully breaking down the table to sleep. I wouldn't even buy into an RV if that's what I would have to do to sleep.

What I like about this is that he is standing in the first shot but on his knees in the second to force the illusion that this system gives you the standing space that it actually denies you

That is a heavy construction which reduces head space but it creates more living space when you don't go to bed.
I’m not sure why you think it’s heavy construction, it doesn’t weigh much more than if he had a finished ceiling
@@NewJerseyOutdoorAdventures I guess it was because I saw a lot of wood and a thick matress. Didn't I?
Cedar is very light compared to the African walnut used on the two tables and the two counters in the kitchen, the frame is all aluminum and the mattress is something that I like to sleep on. The whole unit complete is about 150 lbs
In a Skoolie or Class A this would be perfect to have a separate office in the bedroom area closed off from the living area.

I worked on two other builds with fixed beds for a friend and those vans had no room at all. This gives room for six people to sit in the back area.
I prefer a push up roof.
I want to do Van life and this is the bed I want so I can still have area to sit at and not have to pull bed apart perfect for me!!!

I like the bed rising idea. Saw this in a Japanese tiny tiny motorhome and thought it was a great way to midigate the annoying of packing and unpacking the bed

I'd like it with a desk/office space below to "expand" a small apartment. This is sooo much better than a Murphy bed!!!

@@TQ52 what’s to stop it from coming down in the event of failure? Similar to elevator or roller coaster hill cogs?
@@trollingdirty8910 Yes, there are gears inside of the motor that can only allow it to turn one way when that lever is pulled to that position. If you look on the rear door right side you can see that metal piece, that is that safety knob. Just so you know, the bed is lowered from the ceiling by pushing a switch with no one under it and it comes all the way down and rests on the two cabinets at the back of the van and blocks at the front when bed is going to be slept in.
When Donny Osmond was a kid, he designed a hydraulic lift for his bed to do just this very thing. He wanted more room to play!

OmG, lol i thought this was a boat before I could see it too well! Absolutely gorgeous and really nice nut then you cannt have your bed and your table n seat at the same time. To be perfectly honest I wouldn't even care as long as I had a bathroom with a shower and toilet. Idk of I could live w/o that. I mean obviously if I had to but if I had to choose a bed or kitchen table and seats the table n seats gotta go! Gorgeous build but I wish I could see the rest though! Thanks for sharing this with us and God bless!

It all goes up at the same rate by using one piece of tubing that all four belts are attached to to. So when it turns they all wrap up at the same rate of speed.
That is the only way to do a bed in a van.

Beautiful van this was our 2nd choice we went with the Mercedes winnebago navion 26ft. And for 8 reasons just alittle better in my opinion. It's bigger it's 2 half rooms

It’s a very easy process and less steps that most convertible Campervan beds
@New Jersey Outdoor Adventures agree but so many videos of conversion / renos still show breaking down of table to make a bed. This makes so much sense.

No it doesn’t move in any direction but up and down. There are tracks on the cabinet walls in the front that the rollers attached to the bed roll in side of which keep it from going side to side and front to back. Very cool! The only thing I’d change is a removable table to free up more space when wanted. The dinettes where the table is built in can be claustrophobic. If the table is able to be moved then that area can also be a living room area with two couches to relax instead of just a table with benches.
