In order to draw cartoons like his u definitely have to have more knowledge about drawing. Personally, it's harder to come up with your own stuff than just copying a reference ^^
IMO, realistic drawings are easier to do than original cartoon designs :)

Honestly, the idea of finding a purpose and reason for the character to exist before coming up with the character itself is one of the best tips I’ve ever heard! Honestly so smart!
I'm glad he used the example of Inside Out for this, that movie has some of the best character design I have ever seen. Beyond impressive.
Have you ever lied, lusted sexually, disrespected parents, stolen, thought bad thoughts, hated someone, sinned sexually (fornication, Adultery …) etc All humans have sinned in thought, word or deed. Therefore, none of us are good and able to get into Heaven and will be justly judged and sent to eternity in Hell! But God out of His love sent his son Jesus (also God in Human flesh) to die on the cross for our sins and rise again from the dead (nobody can do that only God).
Jesus said if you Repent of your sins and put your complete trust in Him for your salvation, you’ll have eternal life, given to you as a gift (this message is not to be ignored; seek God today). Your thoughts?
John 14: 6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

Why should God let you into Heaven?
Have you lied (even once in your entire life), looked with lust at the opposite sex, dishonoured parents, stolen anything, had hatred towards someone, had premarital sex, adultery etc If you answered yes to any one of the above then you are a sinner like the rest of us.
So, I ask you again, why should God let a sinner into Heaven?
Sinners don’t go to heaven they go to hell, But we are blessed to have Jesus (God incarnate) die on the Cross and rise from the dead. If you Repent (forsake your sinful, unholy ways and live righteous instead) & Believe in Jesus as God, you will be seen as a Saint and welcomed into Heaven.

I’m for you not against you. Jesus is not some bad Person to Believe nor is He made up (look at all the attention He gets). He is not a hypocrite either He practiced what He preached. He is Loving but also Just; So, He will punish sinners like any just judge would. But followers of Jesus are exempt because the precious Blood of Jesus atones for their sins.
"Don't just think about making cool designs, you gotta apply these principles and actually practice drawing."

Hey ya'll, I might be late to the party but.
Any tips for keeping drawing consistent everyday? I kind of have an on-off relationship with art, and there are some days or months where I would go on without managing to draw something at least (mainly due to being just busy with life, and not having any sort of motivation). And when I come back to drawing, I would basically forgot every single thing I've managed to learn about it and relearn it everytime.
Any tips? I'm getting frustrated rn.

This is the most helpful advice on thinking of making a character, especially cartoonish ones. I am struggling with designing more expressive characters and getting nowhere with just tutorials that show a process speedpaint of a character that someone did.
