There's many recordings of him when he was younger. The earliest recording of him is from 1910. He started seriously recording in the 1930s when he was in his 50s

Since I saw this great lesson, I always notice if pianists play that notes as an "espression of the melody", articulating them and making feel the sadness , or as an "abbellimento", fast and with accent, losing meaning. And many ones play in the second way...
