Tornados rip through US midwest, leaving trail of destruction

- Several communities across the U.S. Midwest are cleaning up Saturday morning after dozens of tornados touched down across multiple states on Friday.
A tornado warning remained in effect until Friday evening, with the National Weather Service (NWS) tallying over 60 tornado reports across five states.
The NWS said severe weather conditions were likely to persist Saturday, with the possibility of large hail, damaging winds, tornados and flooding.
"Those cleaning up from storms on Friday will want to have a plan for sheltering before storms develop," the NWS added.

@@3abbosi Its relatively normal (even though its on the high end of normal), A tornado outbreak generally counts as anything more than 6-10 tornadoes.
America normally sees 1000-1200 tornadoes a year, or about 75% of the worlds tornadoes.
Far deadlier tornado outbreaks have happened before in the past.

I guess you've never been in a tornado. I live in Arkansas. If a tornado hits you dead on it doesn't matter what your house is built out of. Either You're underground, or there's a slab left.

Just goes to show you how overpriced these wood and plastic shells called "houses" are. Homes should be built to the appropriate standard for the location. Steel and concrete homes shrug off tornadoes like they are nothing. If it's too expensive for you, then take the risk or move somewhere else.
Or just work together as a community to not anger the creator

You do realize that it doesn't matter what the house is built out of right? I mean of course brick is better, but if a tornado hits you dead on it will demolish a brick structure easily. I live in Northern Arkansas, I have seen tornadoes literally resurface a town. Trees, vehicles, brick buildings, etc

Why are the houses so flimsy?
You should look up the wind speed of a tornado. Not much can withstand 300 miles per hour wind.
Tornadoes are far more powerful than you think.
