Blackmagic URSA Mini Pro vs Pocket 4K - On The Field Comparison ! [4K]

- Just wanted to share with you a field test I did comparing the Blackmagic Ursa Mini Pro with the new Pocket 4K (BMPCC 4K) . As a long time Ursa Mini Pro owner I was very eager to see how both cameras stack up. If you have a different opinion and a different experience with the two cameras, share in the comments.

I wanted to compare both cameras without any ND Filters so this is why the shutter speed is quite high. Also, I didn't have time to compare the motion aspects (jello, etc..) , I'd be very pleased to hear your feedback if you've managed to compare that yourself.

- 14th november update : BM has updated Ursa Mini Pro firmware adding ISO 3200 and after some testing I think it handles low light better ! Also after this video I did a black shading calibration on my camera which removed these bluish tones in the shadow.

Just wanted to know about the lens adapter yu are using on the 18 35 sigma.. i heard it causes vignetted corners. But I'm glad I did not find any on video..

@@ShutterRebel It was too big. Had to cut it so I don't recommend. I found that the Folix ones are generally very good (Amazon or eBay)
@@AR05431 Didn't see any ! I'm using speedbooster ULTRA. Since the Sigma 18-35 is an EF-S lens you are probably going to see vigneting if you use the Speedbooster XL, which is meant to be used with full frame lenses.

Hey mate, firstly thanks for the great video. No frills or tricks just a great overall comparison between the two, love your work!
A friend and I ran some side-by-side comparisons between my pocket 4K and his Ursa Mini Pro 4.6K and noticed a really heavy push to yellow on the pocket (in raw both set to 5600 and tint on 10).
Did you notice anything like that when doing your tests? Your images looked so much closer to neutral than ours.

Another excellent and practical test, thanks! Would love to see a test of the bmpcc4k's ability to tame a sunny day high contrast scene shot in raw, compared to the gh5s's ability to do same in its V-Log mode. And skin tone accuracy between the two. I was really set on the gh5s, but I'm more and more interested in the new pocket, in particular its supposed better dynamic range and color science vs the gh5 and gh5s.

Another great video! FYI I believe you can record to SSD on the URSA mini pro, but you have to get a separate module and it's obviously not via USB-C
