  • After an amazing and extremely positive response from all of you, I have decided to continue with the toy designs. On today's show, I bring you a demonstration of how to make a flatbed truck toy for your young ones to play with. Why not take the opportunity to bring the young ones in the shop and have them make it with you. It's time well spent and memories that will last a lifetime.
    As always I want to thank you so much for taking the time to stop by the channel. I hope you will consider liking and subscribing to the channel and while you are at it, why not click the bell so that you won't miss future notifications of the show. Thanks a ton for tuning in to the show.
    If you are interested in obtaining the pattern for this toy, feel free to visit my website at www.acutabovewoodworkings.com and click on the "free patterns" section. If that doesn't work for you, you can feel free to email me at kennye@acutabovewoodworkings.com and I would be more than happy to send the pattern your way.
    There has been an update to this project. If you are interested in the update, you can view the update show at the following link.

    And I can't help but enjoy watching you make toys! Bring them on Ken! I like designing toys too, but mine are still in my sketchbook lol. I might make the 1926 Bugatti race car though...always wanted a real one lol. IU don't know about you, but I've got a large pile of sketches that I'll probably never build. But, I had fun drafting them out. I just finished designing a life-size Bluebird whirligig. I now have about 10 drawings or full size patterns. Well at least it keeps my 69 year old mind working lol. I enjoy your ideas. It keeps me wanting to create more. It might be contagious hahahah! Take care and I'll again be watching Tuesday. The #1 show!

    • @acutabove_woodworkings
      @acutabove_woodworkings  Před 2 lety +1

      I hope it is contagious Michael. This is something that the world needs more of. Creativity and crafting. Enough with the store-bought mass produced things that mean nothing. How about some homemade wooden toys that will last a lifetime and become family heirlooms. That's what it's all about. Thanks for tuning in and for the kind words.

      I couldn't agree more Alan. I'm hoping for some doll furniture in the near future. While I think that boys or girls can play with any toy, there's just something special about making wooden doll furniture for the girls. Thanks for tuning in to the show and good luck on your project.

    I used to build furniture. Now I have a 3 year old grandson so I find I’m mostly building toys. I really like your flat bed truck and look forward to seeing your other designs in the future. Keep preaching woodworking for children. My grandson at 3 years old can operate the drill press, a hand held drill, saw with a coping saw, use a hand miter box, use a screw driver and much more. (All with close supervision and some assistance of course.) He loves his time in the workshop and I adore having my buddy with me.

    Ken, I just found your video site and I think it's great. My wife & I volunteer at a food center that cooks and distributes meals to the families of cancer victims and we work a good part of the year to be sure that if there are any children at these homes we can present them with a hand made wooden toy. This is outstanding and I will be sending an e-mail your way to request a copy of your plan, as well as any other appropriate toy that is available. Thank you and may the LORD bless you for your kindness.
