    I use a drill press “Powered off” heat the metal I want punched a little to soften it up and press it down. Much easier than an uneven slam of a hammer.
    Another good technique is using this to metal watch with an AC/DC adapter. Works perfect 👍🏻

    My main concern on stamps, is how do you know if your design maybe close to someone else? Is there a place where the designs are recorded?

      Not really, in fact there are logos that are pretty similar and also names! Like for example if you choose a pepper as a logo probably there will be hundreds of makers that choose the same 🤣 the best way is to choose something that you like but also represent you, so avoid any eagle or pepper or tree. Even abstract shapes are good, or even runes. I choose something that I'm sure nobody used, the nose of my dog

      Carbide burr bit ( inverted cone or round) could work on most steels.
      Cuts steel like butter.

    Good vid.I've done pretty much what you do here but can't get enough oomph behind it to get a clear image on completion as I need to use it hand held.

      @Gabrulo_knifemaking Před 10 měsíci +1

      Actually i have the same problem, sometimes i just can't hold it right and end up with half logo stamped. One way to solve this problem is to use a vise grip to hold it, but the best way is to make an holder

      @@Gabrulo_knifemaking Absolutely, the key to good video is great sound. It's like buying a Lambo and not getting the tires. Don't be cheap. Get a Zoom or Tascam or at least a better mic. The fact that you doubt this explains a lot. Just trying to help. Good Luck, my friend.
