  • Korka from Gambia is visiting neighboring Guinea Bissau and is surprised to find citizens of this country unable to speak in their native languages. They all appear to be united by their affinity for the broken portuguese language (Krio)

    Love the video. But please do NOT refer to the language as Broken Portuguese. Cause it's linguistically incorrect but also racist and colonial at it's core.
    This is Guinea-Bissau creole. An African language using with African grammar and Portuguese vocabulary.
    Though in linguistics it is called Portuguese based.
    In any case, we need more video on the proper history of this language which deserves our respect.
