On the old poor lincoln's truck is not Designed for slamming it as a Motor in it. It Automatic close itself.😂😂😊
This has been “Story time with Kevin!”
29:22 Michelle I put my car in neutral and bounce it off the rev limiter
That boat ain't nothing but Bad Luck, should have left it alone.
u want a good breakfast. if ur ever in West Virginia stop at a Tutors biscuit world.
The look on Chad‘s face at points during the drive says, “these are the ‘kids’ my parents warned me about.“
lol, church time with the pastor
🤣🤣🤣
Hahaha he's totally always got that look
😂😂😂😂
Chad is just the quiet one of the group. They are normally the ones you have to keep an eye on 😂😂😂😂
"If we're gonna blow the rods out of it let's do it close to home" - sage advice from Chad lol
That was the best lines of the whole show, lol
❤
The American Indians deserve all that places like Greenwich Connecticut have to offer!! They helped save the very country that stole everything from them!!! They are our light in times of darkness!! Natives from all the nations in the U.S.A. need our praise, love , and respect!!! ✌💖&💡
The Navajo Code Talkers did use code words, but then translated those words into their native language. For example, tanks were called turtles and submarines were called iron fish. Between the code words and the unwritten language (that even other Native Americans couldn't understand), the Japanese didn't stand a chance of deciphering it. Even other Navajos couldn't break the code because they didn't know what each word was a code for.
I was so glad we got to see the original boat owners receive their boat back after 30+ years! 👏👍🤗😇🙏🏻
I absolutely love this channel. Paul and his crew are angels. I seen merlins version of this trip but i was definitely waiting for fab rats version. To the whole fab rats crew, chad fabs and merlin. Thank you for keeping us hard working folks grounded from the hectic lives we live with some awesome informative and delightful entertainment. Been watching for over 2 yrs now and i can honestly say this is my fav youtube channel!
I met them and they are wonderful down to earth people.
I started watching with the Golden Nugget and I agree they've quickly become my favorite as well.
I'm subscribed to about 400 channels, but Fab Rats and Matt's Offroad Recovery are usually my first stops on YT.
Yep. Certainly in the top 5 of my favorites.
That was an extremely nice thing to do for those folks. Y'all, Chad and Merlin rock! What an adventure.
What an awesome trio! Paul, Merlin and Chad!
Still hard to believe 30 yrs underwater and it is still solid and you guys got it to run. This is a story to be passed down for ages. Thanks for sharing this heart warming story.
Yes, this saga has been interesting to say the least. For me, the fact that motor is running after being under water for 30 years is the highlight. Don't know it was due to Merlin's experitse, quality of product, or plain luck but that is quite an accomplishment.
This adventure has been such an inspiration. No one could write a script for a story like this.
My wife's uncle was a navajo code talker. Grew up near Keems Canyon, Az while his parents were missionaries.
@0:50 he called it a crown vic again, but thanks to the super ninja editor, nobody can complain this time 😝
Hahaha Merlin got the fan to work!! That was awesome! I bet this was a blast! I've never even left the state of Maine. This truly looks like so much fun! I can just imagine the stories these guys have to tell on a trip like this! 🤘
Man you're missing out road tripping is pretty cool you don't have to do it like H.S.T. but that's fun too
I left Maine over 2 years ago. Been on the road ever since. So much to see and experience! Only good if this is what you enjoy though. Maine is a beautiful state and great for the outdoorsy peeps! I also love watching Jacob Knowles the fisherman 😀
Whatever you do, Enjoy the Moments in life!
I drove from Florida to California and back with the fam a couple of years ago it was great just do it I had wanted to do it for years.
We used to fly to different parts of the country and rent a car and spend a few weeks traveling to adjacent states. I lived in Maine 50 years ago. 10 years ago I bought a truck in Idaho, drove to New England and visited family then bought a camp trailer in NH. We towed it back to our home in Alaska.
What a blessing for the gal who "historically only bad things happen" was brought to tears.... I'm sure I'm not the only one who joined her ..... Fabs and friends can change the world !
Those Panthers are tough!
Truly the grace of God is with you as you stayed out of jail with no registration, no proof of ownership for anything, several states away.
This was the best thing to do with Yellow Submarine. FabRats, Chad’s Fab and Merlin are internet legends.
Thank you friends.. my grandfather was a code talker,, thank you for your respect and honor love this channel
Y'all are so awesome!! Merlin, Chad, and Paul riding across the country must have been a once in a lifetime trip. The amount of automotive knowledge sitting in that Lincoln is immeasurable. I'm sure if that Lincoln had broke down, that crew would have got it back running in no time. And tell Chad to keep it down, he probably talked your ears off on that trip!! That's why Paul couldn't get any sleep, Dang Chad!!!
How cool is that! Finally, 30 years later the owners have their boat back thanks to the efforts of ALL y'all.
I absolutely loved this video. You all are a hoot! It was very entertaining and great editing, I couldn't ask for better than this, a road trip for good causes, and seeing Merlin and Chad along for the trip made it extra special! Thank you, Paul and Michelle. You guys never disappoint! Til next time, see you then. 😊
About the boat, It was a miracle, that you were able to rescue the boat on dry land, and the lake refilled after you got the boat out.
The cool thing is that you guys do stuff like this all the time and by sharing it with us you can do it on a bigger scale so enjoy your channel
HEY! Goooooood morning everybody and thumbs UP to Fab Rats 👍
HEY!!!!!!! Gooooooood morning to YOU!!!!!! FIRST for RICHARD!!!! YAY!!!!
@@JanelleVocate-Ames Good morning Janelle , I won't make Matt's until later today. I have an appointment that I need to go to. Have an awesome day!
miss ya already sweetie!@@richardthomas1743
This is Robert D Hibbs, I watch your channel religiously I really enjoy watching you, Chad, Merlin, Matt, Eric... All drove within 50 Miles of my house when you went through Amarillo, I live in Dumas. I would have found a way to go see you all if I had known. I think that this is at least the second time Merlin has come through Amarillo in the past few months.
Your level of Good Karma is so high there's not enough good people in the world like you guys Everyone likes to meet celebrities I want to meet you guys
Merlin making the fan into a generator due to shear boredom had me cracking up, this is something I would be doing.
You guys are awesome folks for doing something, anything, like this for a stranger! We need more people in the world like you guys!! I wish I could be part of your journey, but I'm here in spirit at the very least as I watch every video when they drop at roughly 9 am EST.
What a journey. From rescuing the boat, to the cop who pulled you over on the road trip, returning the boat to the original owners. What a series. Thanks for bringing us the adventure.
The emotions of the the wife resonated a lot. I hope they keep the boat and build new family memories with it
I’ve never seen someone look so good and cool, driving a boat, and matching perfect boat with the perfect driver. But I witnessed it in the episode where the owner was out on the water with you guys driving his long lost boat.
Boats are usually pretty easy to tow. They're shaped to cut through water, so they cut through the wind really well.
In 1986 my wife, her dad, and I drove from Mountain Grove Missouri to El Paso Juarez to Los Angeles in a 1980 4 banger Mustang full of luggage and Christmas presents without stopping. 33 hours.
It's funny when Michelle is talking about old houses, as I grew up in a house almost that old, which is fairly typical for old villages in the UK. 😅 Fun fact, I have driven one of the General Lee cars used for filming Dukes Of Hazzard. Was my favourite program as a kid.
I rented a lincoln town car once and to date it was the only car that had a trunk that could hold 4 golfbags and 4 suitcases and drove it more than a 1000 miles with 4 adults sitting comfortably during our trip. Great video guys !
This channel inspired me to buy a classic vw bus and start wrenching. 6 months ago I knew nothing about cars, but I’ve been loving teaching myself and learning as I go
Love this! Keep it up!
Good luck brother it will be one of the most satisfying things in your life when you get the job done.
Hell yeah! Good luck on it.
I recommend "How to keep your vw alive, manual for the compleat idiot" . It is for early aircooled, but a good introduction to mechanical basics and thinking. My dad's friend made me buy it 40 years ago. The process changed my course in life. I was unsure of my ability to do new things, and he yelled at me "Can you read". Yessir. "Then get a book and read about it. I'll help."
@@bartarkis Amazing! My dad actually gave me his copy from decades ago as a hand-me-down and it’s been super valuable. Also the bentley manual (often referred to as the vw bible on forums) has been an invaluable resource
@30:17 lmao when all they guys crack up and respond "nooo" to Michelle
I applaud Michelle for the Trail of Tears history lesson. I am astonished all the guys didn’t know what it was. It’s fairly common knowledge in the U.S.
Fabrats is great. You guys did an awesome thing for this family. I know it started as just a clean-up of Lake Powell, but it turned into a great story.
Yes it did...very proud of this group of fine folks...
Great video! So glad you included Hunter's squeal when he was in the bow of the boat! That always gives me the laugh😂
The only thing more incredible than this awesome story is the Fab Rats family! You guys are what the heart of America is all about. This entire story is one of the coolest things that I have ever seen on a CZcams channel! God Bless you all for the amazing story that the "Yellow Submarine" turned out to be. I wish you all continued success in all of your endeavors.
Olds 98's, Buick 225's, Chrysler Continental's, Ford Lincoln's and Cadillac Seville's were the family tow vehicle in the 60's and 70's.
Absolutely everything about this episode, and actually the whole series from recovery, is just great. Laughs. Surprises. That awesome cabin. And of course the completion of the intended purpose of the restoration. Special stuff. Will be re-running this one for sure. Thanks for sharing folks!
I am glad you recorded this journey for all of us to see. I have to admit there were parts that were a little emotional. You all did a good thing by giving the boat to the owners in running condition.
Now they have to give the insurance money back lol they didn't really look all that happy
@@gregorybarth930 Yeah, I noticed that as well. It felt like they didn't want to seem ungrateful but, at the same time it seemed like getting their boat back was some sort of burden to them. I hope that I'm wrong but, there seemed to be a strong vibe of "What the H3LL are we going to do with this thing now?!?" Still the work and effort that the Fab Rats family put into resurrecting this rare Biesemeyer Riviera Day Cruiser and then giving it back to the original owners with NO STRINGS ATTATCHED is one of the most selfless acts that I've seen in many years.
Three characters of men came out on this trip. With Michelle's wonderful antics, singing, and everything else, we learned that Chad is likely very patient. Merlin is likely very tolerant. And Paul is likely very used to it. LOL
The “Sinkin Lincoln” towing “The Yellow Submarine” is very fitting! 😁
You should have done a giveaway for getting to go on this trip with you 3 ! Would've been epic !
What a fabulous ending chapter! Thanks for taking us along!! 🐢✌
Paul you're so spoiled with the very best companions on the road. Have a good one. Cheers Capetown 🇿🇦👌🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲
For future reference, on the old Ford electric windows, many times they simply arc a spot on the motor brushes. You can likely remedy this by holding the up/down switch while you slam the door with the car running. The vibration will many times jar the motor off the arced potion of the brushes. If it works, run the window up and down in the middle of it travel to clean the bad spot on armature. The issue is it always stops on the same spot all the way up or down
I've never used this for a temporary fix because I'm anal like that, but you are absolutely right. Such a pain to remove everything and clean all the connections and bushings. Happens more often to the most exposed windows and used more often.
You guys are so generous it’s heart warming. Put your seatbelt on.
Really cool to hear you guys talk about the Navajo code talkers. One of my sons' friends (and like a son to me) Grandfather was an Indian code talker. He passed a couple of years ago. Rightfully so his entire family took so much pride in his contribution. RIP Grandpa Yahze.
I tell you why I watch this channel because it's a family channel you show the good and everything you people are totally awesome And I'll never stop watching your channel I look forward anything and everything that you do BP blast from Love from Tennessee
Over here in Europe it is common towing trailers with normal cars. This boat isn`t a huge thing. I towed bigger loads wih my former 90HP VW Golf Diesel... ;)
Watching the boys' road trip out there was the best!
Haha! 34:35, Michelle says I'm gonna tell you some fun facts about Georgia. Paul rolls his eyes and looks out the window. What a fun trip to take us all along with though. Great crew.
Cool episode. The generosity of time and energy you all put into partially restoring the boat and returning it to its original owners is mind blowing. God bless you’s your families and CZcams channels represented.
What a story! It’s been quite a journey watching the yellow submarine come back to life.
Can't believe that it's been an entire year since this adventure started!!! It's awesome to see it finally come full circle!!
The eye roll on Paul with the Georgia facts was priceless
Thank youfor fun time I had a amazing good time on this boat delivery, thank you for laughs the driveline hidden tunnel and the fan generating power along with the tears I loved it thank you all ,,,praise Jesus Christ grace amen thanks BigAl California
I am really glad you Merlin, and Chad, and of course Michael are the way you are. Great vid of returning the quagmire boat. Thanks for sharing with us.
A 30hr trip with Merlin looks like lots of fun
It is so cool that you got the boat out of the lake for it running and taking it back to the owners. So awesome 👍
You are an amazing band of brothers (and sister)! I love watching you together.
Thanks for taking us along with you.
3 plus years watching y'all now and lovin' each and every episode....this is my FAV !!! Great thing you did for those folks and such a great trip with Merlin & Chad & you two!! Thoroughly enjoyed this one!!
Love the adventures you guys dream up!
These three are so good together. Reminds me of three brothers that progressively get more mischievous.
She’s a beaut, Clark!!!
I really enjoy the content you all do! Most people would not be so generous or humble! I have the honor of setting my own hours at work and the days when your videos release well I start late just so I can get a smile on my face before I go into work! Keep up the good work!
Ha ,great to know I'm not the only one doing it...and chad keep up with the words of wisdom young man. .love it...Merlin and Paul keep them bantering story's coming...
Great video guy's and Gals. Things go full circle, there are so many good things coming your way.
17:07, the most replayed clip on this video, that is an awesome examply of ingenuity and creativity right there!
I cried again. That was an awesome gesture.
Such a cool old cabin! This trip looks like such a Blast! Surely makes me finally want to come out of Maine lol 😂
Great ending to the story.
Might just be me, but I get a feeling they really didn't want the boat back.
Pretty sure he'd be diagnosed
with PTSD from that experience.
He looked _happy_ "in-the-moment"
zippin' it on Lake Havasu some
months ago , but turn the engine
off & back-on-shore , a lot of folks
would just be flooded remembering
the near-death anxiety of years
ago. That's some *_intense_*
emotions to have. Gifting it to
his son keeps it in the family ,
& gives him a literal degree of
separation , and an easier path
to closure over time.
I wish them all well.
28:11 Thats the moment the guys thought Michelle is going to say she will fly back. Great video as always..
Thank you for all you do, and for what you did here... But wow not even an hour video out of a 300 mile trip . Maybe I'm the only one but I think I could have watched more, especially the drop off . There should be a law passed if there isn't one already but if you see a boat in distress to help in any way you can...to prevent loss of life, it was but a miracle these people survived that storm. I hope people watching this will be saved by the story these people have shared, don't underestimate the power of water🙏🙏🙏 always be prepared.
I used to drive a 75 KW with straight pipes, the jake sounded great in the tunnels!
So much fun, you guys are amazing
And again we hear, "what could go wrong? Nuth'n, it'll work out" Good moto to have!
"Look at that house, it's really old, you can tell by the way it is" - KILLING ME!
Nothing better than a good road trip
HOW AMAZING OF A VIDEO !!!..... you guys always restore the thought of how amazing some people still can be !!... there's not many of you guys left and it's a shame.....that was old school!!
You guys could make a movie about the whole situation. Would be a good movie.
I know Ford's aren't popular here, but representing 90's Iron the Towncar came through clutch and that sweet Bronco in the background brought a smile to my face. Cool episode and last chapter here for the Y.S.
That 4.6 liter V-8 is one of the toughest little V-8's Ford ever built. I have owned a couple of them, they have adequate power only burn much gas when you're abusing them. (LOL) I had a Merc Gran Marquis, cruising at 65 mph on a long trip using 93 octane it would get 28-29.5 MPG. (not exaggerating or BS, done it several times)
I gotta save the toughest little v8 I ever own and drove. Lexus LS400 4.0 1uzf. But this 4.6 comes right behind it haha
I had a Grand Marquis, that got great mileage on the road. Hook up a pop up camper, and it would drop 10 mpg.
Laughing the whole time, great video from a great trio. The personalities mesh!
Everyone loves a good old Road Trip!!!
I enjoy Listening to Michelle when She's singing 😊
I'm so proud to "know" you guys. You're so damn fun, make me laugh and do some amazing things for people and to vehicles! Thanks so much for taking us along!
Great job to everyone involved with the Yellow Submarine! Fantastic to see it back with the family. Can’t wait for the return trip with the vehicle your bringing back ( Merlin ) ALREADY gave a look /
was that a Neature Walk reference lol 23:35 "It's an aspen tree, you can tell by the way that it is"
This whole series was one of the most awesome things I have ever seen on CZcams.👍
You guys deserve all the good times that have been coming your way. Crazy!
These 3 guys and their friendships couldn't get better I watch each and everyone videos !
Finding The Yellow Submarine in a dry lake bed, dragging it out, cleaning it up, standing up to an over zealous government official ( AND WINNING), having your incredibly gifted cousin turn it into a killer speed boat, taking it on the lake for a little rip on the water, buying a Lincoln, then driving it across the country to deliver it to it's
original owner (refurbished Van Halen cassette and all) is the most Fab Rattest thing ever. EVER. Well done.
Merlin is going to make it into a "Hot.. .Rod ...... Lincoln "! My goodness. Fun trip. You guys are the best
Merlin is the best. He brings so much good energy to the videos. Can't get enough of him
I enjoyed this video so damn much congrats on the safe trip back home and doing something not a lot of people would've done you guys are all amazing people
I don’t know why, but the look on their face when you asked “ how does it feel to have the boat back” was a “Damn, I thought we got rid of this money pit the first time”… look…… you guys are awesome!
Michael, when I go through a tunnel, I open up the baffles, drop a gear and let the pipes sing.
