You are absolutely fabulous! Thank you so much. The section around 3:20 on to the end is hugely informative.
Thanks for watching.
Great tips...getting a cast right really helps and don't lose focus on getting the fly there. Lot's of people can't cast very well but they can get the fly where it needs to go.
Thanks for watching and stay tuned. Much more to come.
Thanks for great information! I have finally eliminated Creep, and start my cast with rod low, practice makes perfect..what a huge difference in controlling accuracy and distance. I also received my MRO Teton streamer vault (and hat). Love it! I loaded it with large saltwater streamers and will be on the Texas coast next week breaking em in. Good fishing to you all! 🎣
Charlie Boutin Thanks a ton for being here and we appreciate the support!
Thx for the great videos. I enjoy that you get to the point and don’t add a 5 minute introduction montage that some fishing videos seem to think is necessary. Keep it up. I’ll keep watching
Thanks for watching.
Thank you for that lesson, I am going to have to start practicing my casting again!
Thanks for watching.

Very good tutorial on the importance of stopping and the results if you don’t. Looking behind you at both the rod tip and the line is really helpful as well.

1:35 waiting a straight line
Back cast & forward cast.
Very understandable scene😄👍
Thanks for watching.
Great Info. First time fly fisherman here. It was difficult to stop long enough as my cast got longer. I really like starting the detailed descriptions. I will get practicing. Thanks again for the video!

Not sure. You'd have to contact Brian directly at the shop via e-mail or phone. He'll be happy to answer.
nice TFO shirt Josh!
Thanks for watching.
Rewatching. Reviewing. Rehelpful.
Thanks for watching…..again.
So on your back cast do you want your line to straighten out all the way before coming forward also what size rod and what type of line. Are you using thanks again your videos help out a lot
Glad to help. Yes, you want it to unroll almost completely before you begin coming forward. Not sure what rod and line they were using. You can contact them directly at admin@madriveroutfitters.com or call the shop.
Hi and thanks for the video. When you say knots does that mean my pauses are too long on my back cast? As always thanks.
Thanks for watching. Please send your questions directly to the shop via email or phone and they will be happy to help/answer.
Watching this over and over, this whole casting series. Trying to learn though, and practicing daily.
Thanks for being here and keep after it.
I used to lose a whole bunch of flies when I started out, because I was in such a hurry to make the cast. When you hear that snap behind you, you need to tie on another fly.
Very common! Thanks for sharing.
Fished rod and reel my whole life and going on a fly fishing trip this weekend. This stuff is awesome. Hopefully won’t lose too many of those flies
I love the rod you are using, what's the brand / model ?
irish setter. Please contact Brian directly through the shop and he can answer you there.
Ohhhhhhhhhhhh..........you meant STOP !!!!! Lol ..... that's hilarious !
Literally. The TRUE sense of the word.
Hey Brian what kind of line are you using in this video. The orange stuff. It looks pretty thick. And looks like it casts pretty darn easy.
Alan Kincer www.madriveroutfitters.com/p-14733-cortland-hi-vis-flip-pallot-fly-line.aspx
So I broke three rods, two in one weekend. Was trying to use some poppers for bass. Back cast stop forward cast and wack, bout a foot broke off.
What, what am in doing in my cast to hit my rod.
AKA ABOUT DONE WITH FLY FISHING
Armando Veloz E-mail or call the guys at the shop and maybe they can find a way to help?
Armando Veloz SLAMMERS! Nice.
I sometimes have issues with that whole stopping thing.
Many folks do as stated here. Thanks for watching.
“Oh you mean actually stop”! Lmaoo come on Jon! 4:30
Yes. Actually stop. Full.
After watching numerous videos and thinking I’m doing what I’ve watched, I went fly fishing for my first time today and I spent more time in tangling then I did fishing. I don’t feel that pausing was my problem as I felt if I waited any longer it would hit the ground behind me. I was having the split shot wrap around the end of the line half the time and having it wrap around the end of the rod the other half. Please help!
Please give a call to the shop and chat with someone there? They should be able to help you out.
No matter what I do I can’t stop from hitting my rod tip with the fly line. I’ve tried shorter strokes forward and back, I’ve tried quicker strokes still the same results.
Awesome great video sorted ALIEN
Thanks for watching.
Nice 👍 what kind of rod you using ?
James Robinson Not sure. You’d have to check with Brian directly via email or phone.
i smashed that like button, I think it broke :/
Thanks. You can get a new one? Restart your computer.
So it’s a dance
One where you don't move much at all really....then yes.
Mad River Outfitters well I was mostly thinking about the way you explain the tempo. It’s the same as dancing and music. Coordinate your movements smoothly so that you can make you fly dance across the sky in a perfect loop
Is that a glass fly rod?
William Henry No glass fly rods here.
Lefty Kreh “Instructor” model from TFO.
Oh, you mean stop for real lol
Yes. The true sense of the word.
I'm just a creeper after all 😭
Most are. Thanks for being here.
Who are the four people who disliked this video ? Lol
Haters gonna hate.
