Have you never read the Union handbook issued to all ghosts? One of the first things they teach their members is never to manifest if mortals have deliberately turned out in the hope of seeing them. They're being considerate, and not wanting us to get over excited.
And for the love of Mike, don't ghost hunting wandering on railroad tracks - or you might find you've become one!

Lived in the Farmhouse at the Green hill side for many years, never saw any ghosts. Just lots of Drunks!
