Depending on your line of work, powerpoint can still be an effective communication tool. I'm a Software Engineer for a Biotech company and we use powerpoint a fair bit.
An infinitely better approach would be for each column to slide in from the bottom, in a "wave", with an animation that actually uses Bézier curves to calculate distance per frame
Oh my God, I can't believe it. There actually is a PowerPoint tutorial without morph. Congratulations. Nobody wants 50 gazillion slides just so you can animate.
The whole point of this animation and others like it is that you don't need separate slides to acheive it - it's all in one. No one's saying you have to overload your pres with everything flashy Animations like these are effective for running slideshows of a handful of slides to keep people informed, like in lobbies and hallways and such.
except that this presentation is totally useless because the text is small and unreadable. The bounce effect is nice, but the readability should be more important. Show me the bounce effect used in a good presentation...
Even better PowerPoint tip. Don’t use goddamned animations: they’re distracting and detract from what you’re saying. The focus should be on the speaker, not on the slides.

Hello DJ, I hope you are good and that the Japanese classes are going well with the new tutor. The pasta looked delicious but I doubt I could eat that, the salad and the pizza at one meal as I am a very slow eater and so get full earlier.
tbh this can be done if you have plenty of time and dont know what to do the whole day... animated sheets is 95% waste of watchtime and 99% waste of time for creation and if its storred as pdf all is gone ...
And of course the mandatory section where he goes into detail about how to set up the rectangles and text, that have nothing to do with the actual tutorial

Hi
I'm still stuck on how do you get 5 equally sized rectangles that completely fill the slide

Try inputting a table with five columns to fill the slide, then resize some rectangles over the top to line up with the table
@@joe1205 that's such a good idea! my way feels so complex now haha

yep I can definitely do all of that labour work on my 90 slides
90 slides is way too much for a single prez
depends in which field we are persuing
90 slides😅 a PowerPoint that long reflects poorly on the communication skills. Must be riddled with deadwood
90 slides on Diabetes Mellitus type 1 type 2 , it's causes , risk factors, epidemiology, pathogenesis, clinical features, signs and symptoms, complications, management, treatment are actually less than you think
I'm with you. 90 slides are pretty normal in STEM field especially if the presentation is 2-3 hour long.
You can't call it a feature when it has 23 steps

Been doing this since PowerPoint '97
Was going to say, I played around with this stuff so much when I was supposed to be doing my school presentations in the late 90s/early 2000s
As a millennial that lucked out making like three PowerPoints my entire school career and never needing to make a deck as an adult, I feel blessed to not have to worry about making something like this lol.
Depending on your line of work, powerpoint can still be an effective communication tool. I'm a Software Engineer for a Biotech company and we use powerpoint a fair bit.
Same. I don't think I've made a Power Point since I left high school
If you have enough time to do this, you’re not working enough.
I used this today! Thank you!
Wasted watching time.
Wasted writing time.
And finally the presentation is hardly visible on a projector
As an engineer, we could really care less about animations…
couldn't
An infinitely better approach would be for each column to slide in from the bottom, in a "wave", with an animation that actually uses Bézier curves to calculate distance per frame
wow, he found the tutorial button.
Nice! Does it work when the monitor size changes? I guess the question is whether the 5 boxes are fixed in width or proportional to the screen?
I used to use the "fly in" feature a lot, just not so fancy like you did

What a great animation. Anyway, I’m just going to export the deck as a PDF.

Thank you for this information.
I knew most of it. I hadn't thought of the bounce, but it looks good!
I knew all of this except the animating a group.
Even better PowerPoint tip. Don’t use goddamned animations: they’re distracting and detract from what you’re saying. The focus should be on the speaker, not on the slides.
What I’d like to know is, is this on Mac or Microsoft? What is Power Point used for, besides making rectangles?
"Bounce in" is a beautiful thing
5 years of consulting, i've never seen an animated slide
We delete all animations because after seeing a corny animation for the 50th time during an entire day of presentations you're ready to stab someone.
That’s just sad.
