Absolutely agree, their impact is huuuuge, no need to be great guitarists, but really in the style they're playing, they're probably The Best anyways.
Though still the fact that drummers like Dave were hard to find back then, hence I think he's had a bigger impact on the scene than them...
he was virtually alone playing the way he had, fast & brutal like no other at the time.
Glad to hear Jeff was the reason you'd picked up a guitar, he's my fave guy in Slayer as well, best songs he'd wrote...

Um, Paul and Dave are two different drummers. Paul played with brutality, and Dave played with aggressive feel. Listen to the fills on Ghosts of War, Hallowed Point and the coup de grace, the live version of Chemical Warfare. As a drummer myself (and I can prove it if asked) Dave can play the songs slayer did with Paul to the T if he wanted to, but plays them with his own added style to it. Paul is awesome, and when I first heard Divine Intervention, I had a hard on, but Dave>Paul IMO. :)

Plus, even though Jeff's solos aren't anything that great in a "technical" way - his solos have some serious intensity whereas Kerry's solos are pretty awful. You are correct on Dittohead, he doesn't really capture the work from Divine that well. Payback and Stain Of Mind is however not played wrong at all, Payback is thrashy and straight-forward and Stain is pretty simple acually. Dave does Disciple in his own way, though I like Bostaph's version better. But Dave plays the old stuff from 83-90 in a whole new ways that sounds fantasic, and I also like new stuff. In the end, I think of Bostaph and Lombardo as equals.

That depends. Will he allow Slayer to continue recording and touring without Jeff? I'd like to see what he does after the band's current touring commitments and what will happen with the songs they supposedly recorded thus far for a new album. If he goes on like business as usual, it's a slap in the face to Jeff's memory. They're basically a tribute band at this point with only 2 original members. IMO, they should call it quits after all current touring obligations are finished.

@AGNTthrasher He even bashed Bostaph? Wow, I thought he was like Slayer's favorite backup drummer. Kerry speaks his mind, I'll give him that, it's up to yourself if you agree with what he's saying. I don't think he worries a lot what the fans say. Araya has always seemed to get along with Dave. How about Jeff?

I think he has a right to vent a little steam, I know Kerry isn't shy with his opinions.

In contrary of metals biggest Schwein,
These guys (Fantomas that is) have good taste and sense of humor, something which is not very common in the metal scene. Watch the lines from Buzz even better...

Interesting perspective. I didn't know that about his father.
You're probably right...he's clearly overcompensating with all tattoos, the beard, the wallet chain, the spikes...he's probably insecure and tries hard to toughen up his image.
His shortness doesn't help either (Napoleon complex).
However, he DID jam with the Big Four a few times eventually, although only after the fans got on his case for not showing up...and of course, he didn't acknowledge anyone else on stage while jamming.
