Another fun fact: you can tell this is supposed to be a ww1 pic by looking at the soldier's helmets. It appears that they are wearing the m16 or m17 models of Stahlhelm or steel helmet. You can tell this by looking at the ventilator "horns" on the sides of the helmet and how far they come out. The reason for this was so that another additional piece of armor could mounted on the helmet to offer more protection to machine gunners. The ww2 models of Stahlhelm do not have the ventilator horns stick out that far.
It's probably a picture out of battlefield 1

Okay, so in my D&D world there was a huge war against these squid aliens, fought by the warforged, an army of metal men. Years later, it turns out these mechanical soldiers were actually "piloted" by the souls of the Lamia, an entire race of snake people who had been secretly butchered so they could have their essence transferred to the more combat-oriented metal bodies. This song... It's perfect for them. Steampunk soldiers flying airships into battle against giant octopi dreadnoughts, tragically unaware of their horrific past. I'm going to be listening to this on a roll for days now.
Tahu Nuva nah to me it gives this feeling of an army drilled to a maximum efficiency turning a human into a robot so effective that even robots are put to shame.
That's kind of how it went down. The warforged were created by this group of protectors, ten people who were so insanely powerful that they had managed to hold off the army until that point.
Tahu Nuva Agh I see but I guess we had a misunderstanding when I said turning into robots I meant that they do on psychological level not physical invoking more philosophical arguments.

Fun fact: the drum or "snail" magazine the soldier in the center is using for his maschinenpistole 18 was not actually designed for that specific firearm, and it was instead meant for a special version of the Luger pistol

@Warspite Actually, those are German soldiers, but if it was WW2 then they wouldn't have gas masks because no one used chemical weapons against the Germans in WW2 and the sub machine gun the guy in the middle has is an MP-18 which was rarely used in WW2 because they upgraded to the MP-40.
