Homeowner GCs an addition: Tearing out carpet with COVID SUCKS

Quick framing update here, and then it's time to get my hands dirty to rip out the carpet in the playroom that's going to turn into a hallway.

Yes! isn't ripping up the carpet satisfying? And definitely wear a mask! I ripped mine up when I moved into my new house Labor day weekend 3 years ago. The wife and I slept in the dining room for a few days. Make sure you screw down the plywood in the squeaky places, I only did that in the upstairs master bedroom and not the other two bedrooms. We soon found out that the squeaks from the other two bedrooms were so much worse when the warmer, weather came around. Now it sounds like elephants live in my two daughters rooms when they are walking around. GRRRRRRrrrrr! I should've known!!!! Anyway, hope you are feeling better, rest and shake that COVID.

For sure! It's definitely one of the jobs I like. We'd done it before in a previous house, and it's immensely satisfying. We'll have to rip up some more once construction is done and we get ready to put in the hardwoods. Good call on screwing down any loose pieces. We'll definitely have to do that before we put anything down.
