I believe Ed moved back to Phoenix in the early 70's instead of the 80's and he told me this himself. Some of his early abstracts and posters were most excellent but probably rare to find now! I am remembering one poster that was an promo-poster for an eatery in Scottsdale known as Dr. Munchies :) His talent is unique and his artwork is excellent and I am sure it has inspired many other artists. He went to Art Institute in California for his initial training and is an accomplished successful artist because he studied every aspect of art. He is a friendly, warm and kind person with a very mellow personality! :) An Old Friend
To be blunt, I lost my job this past January, 2011, and at my age work is hard to come by so I started buying and selling art. This is small time scale, but it has become such a passion to look at art ever minute I can and not just to buy and sell it, but to appreciate the beauty that someone has been able to capture. I get totally lost in art, mostly paintings. Love your work!!!
I would give anything to just spend one day with Ed Mell. I want to learn how to draw and paint like he does, well not exactly, but watching him do his work will inspire me and watching him think about what he is doing will give me a window into how he thinks. Ed Mell, if you see this, please let me know as I am not a spring chicken, but a 60 year old man that LOVES art!!!
I wish you would do a life size bust of Mabel Dodge Lujan in that deco style for her grave in Taos...I love your work...one artist to another. Kit Rank Best for the New Year !
His brother Frank Mell was an exceptional artist in his own right, Frank Phoenix underground artist and friend. Thank you

This is my cousin and such a great person and artist. Meanwhile I can barely draw a stick figure.
We'll miss you Ed.
I have been a fan of Ed Mell's work for over 20 years. I compare his art to that of Maynard Dixon. Bold.

Love his work. Cool dude too.
I love Ed Mell's work. How can I contact him - find out his art show/ workshop schedule? Or if he's going to visit Toronto - would love to meet him.
