Cuban bassist and singer Alain Pérez is an eminence in the salsa, latin-jazz and flamenco scene. He was the band leader of singer Celia Cruz for years and bassist for flamenco guitarist Pace de Lucía for six years.
Pérez knows the Cuban tradition like no other and brought the so-called 'descarga' to Music Meeting.
'Descarga' literally means: discharge. It is a way of communicating with each other through music and was introduced in the 1940s by Cuban bassist Israel "Cachao" López.

Bueno, creo que la música habla por si misma. A Alain ya lo conozco desde hace muchos años pero definitivamente al que buen arbol se arrima.....El solo del pianista me ha dejado perplejo, el de la batería impresionado, demasiada musicalidad en una persona tan joven, es una alegría que estos muchachos se dediquen a hacer música de tan apoteósica calidad, hay esperanza,m siempre hay esperanza ya que la buena musica nunca muere. Mi agradecimiento y felicitación! Bravo y mil veces bravo!
