If CZcams was around in the 80's this video would have billions of views
Trillions maybe!!!!
It's better to sell CDs and records in the 80s than crummy CZcams views today lol. Means more $.
No need because at the time there was a thing called MTV that did nothing but play music videos:)
Sorry BORING. YIKES.
I remember when this song was played on MTV all the time. Ahhhhhh, the sounds of my childhood! 😉💚

If you lived through this era than you know Paula and Janet were radio queens of pop.
I promise people cared but time is just evil to humans, things change as a natural progression but not for the benefit of humans.
Miss Jackson, if you're NASTY!!!!
SHE WAS POP
JANET JUST filled in
Paula Abdul and Janet Jackson definitely ruled the 80s and 90s I grew up on their music had all their albums 😊
I agree with you I grew up in the 80s and 90s and Paula Abdul and Janet Jackson definitely ruled the 80s and 90s 😊
To all those 70, 80’s babies- I wish you all peace and happiness. These were amazing times. We’ll never have anything like it. But we are all still here. Enjoy each day!
Love, 70’s baby in 2024; ☮️🌎☮️
There are certain 80’s songs that give me an overwhelmingly painful and bittersweet sense of nostalgia. This is definitely one of them
Yes and this is definitely one of those songs ❤

Definitely know where your coming from....... today's music just doesn't do that.
@@jonathanx8528 I think that for today's kids, today's tunes will have a similar effect, but whatever decade you grew up, I think that whatever music played during your teenage days will always be special. I used to think that any modern music post 2000 was a bit lame, but every now and then, there's still a good one that is super catchy. My teenage days were firmly in the 80s, but I also think that not all songs back then were great.
Aww hell yeah 🤧🤟
She deserves endless praise for that opening tap sequence alone. It was perfection!
Yes!!!😮😅😊❤
Yes! I revisit this video often just to watch and rewatch the tap!
Paula is awesome
She's wonderful!!!
I still think of it. It's my favorite part of the video from the first time I saw it when the video came out.
This is the most under appreciated music video of all time. Its aesthetic is unmatched. It’s mysterious, urban, fun, well choreographed and well edited. It’s aged like wine.
Directed by David Fincher
lame
It beat Vogue.
It was OVER-RATED
Well said!!
I could not agree more!! The production value, choreography, lighting and editing are as fresh today as it was in the 80s
Song still dope in 2024!

Nobody appreciating the amazing tap scene in the beginning
That tap scene made this my favorite video of the 80s
I was just thinking the same thing...
Was the legitimately her? 😳
Update: My mother has informed me she choreographed and performed her own routines. Gotta love having an 80’s raised mom!
It's incredible!
I appreciate it. She's one of the few singers that can do it all - including tap. Remember, she started out as a choreographer.
Michael Bischoff EVERYBODY DO! We have NO WORD

Paula is a legend
As a kid I always waited for this shit to come on the radio..... dope track
[Verse 1]
Lost in a dream
I don't know which way to go
(Ah-let me say it now)
If you are all that you seem
Then baby, I'm movin' (Movin') way too slow
[Pre-Chorus]
I've been a fool before
Wouldn't like to get my love caught in the slammin' door
How about some information, please?
[Chorus]
Straight up, now tell me
Do you really wanna love me forever? (Oh, oh, oh)
Or am I caught in a hit-and-run?
Straight up, now tell me
Is it gonna be you and me together? (Oh, oh, oh)
Or are you just havin' fun?
[Verse 2]
Time's standing still
Waiting for some small clue
(Ah-let me tell ya now)
I keep getting chills
When I think your love (When I think your love) is true
[Pre-Chorus]
I've been a fool before
Wouldn't like to get my love caught in the slammin' door
How about some information, please?
[Chorus]
Straight up, now tell me
Do you really wanna love me forever? (Oh, oh, oh)
Or am I caught in a hit-and-run?
Straight up, now tell me
Is it gonna be you and me together? (Oh, oh, oh)
Or are you just havin' fun?
[Bridge]
You are so hard to read
You play hide-and-seek
With your true intentions
If you're only playin' games
I'll just have to say
Abb-b-b-bye, b-b-b-bye
[Breakdown]
Do, do you love me?
(Do, do you love me, baby?)
Do, do you love me?
(Do, do you love me? Ah-hey, baby!)
Do, do you love me?
(Do, do you love me, baby?)
C'mon now, do, do you love me?
(Do, do you love me?)
Ah-tell me, baby
[Pre-Chorus - Extended]
I've been a fool before
Wouldn't like to get my love caught in the slammin' door
Are you more than hot for me
Or am I a page in your history book?
I don't mean to make demands
But the word and the deed go hand in hand
How about some information, please?
(Please, please, ah, please, please)
[Chorus]
Straight up, now tell me (Tell me)
Straight up, now tell me (Tell me)
Straight up, now tell me (Tell me)
Straight up, now tell me
Straight up, now tell me
Straight up, now tell me
Do you really wanna love me forever? (Oh, oh, oh)
Or am I caught in a hit-and-run?

Or am I caught in a hit-and-run?
Now tell me
Is it gonna be you and me together? (Oh, oh, oh)
Or are you just havin' fun?...

Because a sane person should vote for a warmongering lesbian who supports everything she claims she's against plus pedophile rings. And I really don't care what your username stands for. Just replying to another left-winger who brings in politics where it doesn't belong.
Regardless, Paula Abdul is 54 years old. She's 30 years past her prime so of course she doesn't look that good anymore.

Why is Arsenio Hall blurred out on this video?

Eternal Darkness - Just because you don't know about all the work she's done, does not change the fact that she is a legend! Just a few hits in the 80's? You better look her up, her work goes way beyond all the music she has recorded herself... For instance she is also a choreographer. She is in the Rock'n Roll Hall of Fame for a reason...
One of the great dance songs. Fat beat, killer bassline, amazing choreography, wrapped in the black and white visual aesthetic. From the era when art worked on several levels.
100% agree. Very nicely put by you. Even if I think this goes beyond 'dance' or even the pop genre; it's a truly well-made piece of art - the composition, arrangement and everything around it.
A pretty sick electric keyboard there at the end too
True! The beat is good even to this day. Also, the bu-bu-bu-bu-bye and the the tune that sounds like a whistle!

A piece of pop trivia. When the man is dancing in the trench coat with the Cain, while in his flip his hat falls off. That was unintentional and the dancer naturally did the splits to recover the hat. They left it in the video.
