14th Century Half Cloak: Not Your Average Cape Cult

  • IN WHICH our intrepid recreatrix jumps from the Viking age to the High Medieval by creating a 14th Century side-buttoning half-cloak, like the one found with the Bocksten Man.
APOLOGIES for the sound mixing mess up at the 4:45 mark. Premiere pro just decided to not silence the ambient noise for like three minutes. There are closed captions, I recommend turning down your volume and turning on captions for that time.

While I love the straightforwardness and non-wastefulness of rectangular construction, I have to admit that clothes were a lot more interesting by the late Middle Ages. I love this in combination with the London hood. And it's nice to see some masculine styled garments too.
