  • What does a diocese look for in a man who wants to become a priest? What are red flags? What evaluations occur? What about the cost of education and what exactly do seminarians learn? Becoming a priest is a lot more than than an application and going to school. Dive Deep sits down with Fr. Brian Alford, Director of the Office for Vocations for the Diocese of Springfield in Illinois.

This was a very informative talk. Well done. So much to know and discern for young men entering the priesthood. We need more holy priests.. Thank you.

We need more traditional teaching from the pulpit to reinforce our true faith. If ALL of our priests were overt from the pulpit, we wouldn't have canceled priests. ❤ 🙏

Too rigid??? Explain. I believe the Catholic faith to be the one true Catholic apostolic faith. I am studying the three volumes of the Summa at this point. I know three young men discerning the priesthood. I don't want them to be miss taught on any level by any priest. Does that make me rigid? The Commandments are not suggestions. God created one man and one woman for the purpose of procreation. By God's design that is doctrine. What is this priest implying that we have to be careful not to be overt for fear of being canceled. Any Catholics, not just priests, are being canceled, nowadays family members are actually canceling family members because we are not casual enough in our faith. These are tragic times, and we need good theologians teaching the one true Catholic and apostolic faith, how about that for rigid. God bless Bishop Paprocki.

We have to be kind but firm in our faith. God first always.
