every single thing she said makes perfect sense. All she said is that the electoral college essentially erases the vote of dissenting voters that live in a blue or red state. That is true. @@AshishB702 I don't think it helps blacks. When most of them get into a academically challenging college with a low sat score they mostly fail, or drop out. It has nothing to do with race, it is because they were not ready for that high academia. It happens to whites who get the same treatment. A low s.a.t., followed by a hard curriculum, normally always ends up in failure, no matter what the race.

@@iwishiwaswrongbutimnot517 Affirmative action is like a defibrilator. It can work to repair an inefficiency in the economy when there is a culture of deep racism (e.g. in much of the 20th century). But if you use a defibrilator every day forever, it's not good. The concept of the government safety net is similar. In desperate times, the government should help people, but it has to be a temporary help. The free market will solve the problem if it is allowed to. Even the biggest free market proponent doesn't understand its awesome power. IMHO, all health care needs is a freer market.
So she just made a argument against AFIRMATIVE ACTION, in the work place.

I'd disagree about it being the greatest form of representation. It's a way for the powerful oligarchs in this country to retain control over who ultimately gets elected as President. If we didn't have an electoral college each vote would count equally, meaning that it is the best way to ensure that everyone is represented equally.

The funny thing is that I came to the same realization earlier about the electoral college debate - whether we should be a nation-state (UIA) or a nation of states (USA) is the fundamental question.

I was reading down through the tweets on this video on Twitter. It's painfully obvious that they no longer teach the constitution in school. One person suggested that each county in America get a single vote so it would be a fair representation and you thought the world ended when I answered that the college consisted of the number of senators plus the number of representatives for each state which was very nearly the same thing.

Another purpose of the electoral college is to diminish the impact of voter fraud. This way if you have a city or state that stuffs the ballot box with fake ballots it only effects the electoral votes allotted for that state. A good example would be the county in Missouri that has only 300,000 residents(not voters, residents) yet Obama got 900,000 votes in that county 2 elections in a row. I don't think I have to mention the voter fraud in every Democrat run city do I !!!

Knowles does such a good job of explaining things. Probably the best break down and explanation of how are government works in its simplest form. I 100% agree our state and local governments need to keep their power without giving up more to D.C.

I think she's just gotten to the point where she realizes that the given explanation makes no sense and doesn't accept the bullshit. I'm all for federalism and splitting power up between states and the federal governments, but there is no reason why state's should vote for president rather than the people living in those states. The only reason the electoral college is still in place today is so that powerful politicians can help ensure they keep their oligarchical power. Abolishing the electoral college gives more representation to each person

Your point about eliminating the Senate if everything is based on population, it’s like what happened in California when the State Senate was changed from regional representation to representation based on population. So, in California both houses of the state legislature are based on population. As a result, the Los Angeles metropolitan area and the San Francisco metropolitan area run the state. Meanwhile, California residents in rural northern counties, the Central Valley, the high desert regions of the east side of the Sierras and the rural southern desert areas have no say in any aspect of government. And we can just look at what has happened in this state over the last 100 years and see what’s happened.
