  • Released late last year, the all-new Starcross 6 range represents the first significant upgrade to Michelin’s off-road tyres since their predecessors, the Starcross 5s, were released in 2015. But make no mistake; this Starcross 6 range sure steps up the French tyre brand’s offering when it comes to technology, performance and versatility. And according to Michelin, those gains have a lot to do with the fact they’re the first dirt bike hoops to include silica technology rubber.
But do these Starcross 6s live up to Michelin’s lofty claims of massive improvements (like 10-20%!) over their predecessors in terms of durability and traction - both when new and worn? To answer that question, we flogged a few sets in a variety of terrain for several months, and then teamed up with ShopYamaha Off-Road Racing Team’s Josh Green - a guy who’s been riding and racing on Michelins for more than a decade. Here’s what we discovered...
    SIZES
    • Fronts - available in a both 80 and 90 widths in 21-inch.
    • Rears - available in 100, 110 and 120 widths in both 18-inch and 19-inch.
    PRICE
    • $139.95 - $154.95 AUD (fronts, depending on tyre model and sizing)
    • $159.95 - $174.95 AUD (rears, depending on tyre model and sizing)

Wicked tire, running the med/hard rear and soft front on my 650 berg.
Powerslides and handling is brilliant much happier then with the 5s......but I was stoked with the 5s

Hi guys ,just had a dry weekend first for a while so i took the opportunity to ride the starcross 6 med/hard ..I was riding a 2021 husky 450 fc on a very dry stoney mx track ..First impression was total grip i literally jumped on the bike and went as fast as i could (idisclaimer i am not a good rider ) grip in a straight line was good opening the throttle is just lifting the front wheel where my last tyre (an older michelin) was wheel spinning ,i stalled the bike 4 times (rare for me ) on braking which i put down to the extra grip i have to be more careful when dragging the brake ..Overall i felt much more confident in all areas the leading edge after 2 hours of heavy wrist action is rounding very slight ,...I will add the fitting of this tyre was a little taxing i am no expert but i have a rabaconda type of tyre machine thank god ..i ran a tube at 12 psi i did not feel any rolling or anything which gave me any concern .I from this ride would recommend this tyre when i did loose the back end it was predictable and easy to control ,this is the hardest tyre i have ran for some time and i think i made a good choice in hard and dry conditions it really works well ..hope this helps to make a choice i have NO involvement with any companies and its just my honest opinion ..

Probably an independent opinion would be more believable, than someone who gets free tires all year round from the manufacturer, plus a sponsored rider won't piss in his own bed.
