- Johnny Dehn stops in our Scalp Solutions studio to get his 1st session of scalp micropigmentation AKA Hair Tattoo done. Johnny has been a client of mine for a long time and finally decides to live the hassle free from hair loss life.
Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP) is the creation of hair follicle simulation for men and women, which gives the look of real hair on the scalp. the reality for smp is that you still need to shave every day, otherwise hairs grow and looks unnatural, and imo it looks better on people with dark skin
Yes, maintenance is necessary depending on the rate that your hair grows. Once healed it looks much better on lighter skin tones, freshly done the redness overpowers it.

@@scalpsolutions I’m booked into have my first session next month here in the UK. It seems popular to have 3 sessions here. I’m kinda apprehensive cuz my hair is light red, only really ever seen it done with black or brown hair.
@@Rondawwg As long as your artist knows how to properly dilute the pigment you should be good. I’ve done several redheads, it’s a matter of proper pigment dilution and following the remaining hairs pattern. Check out my instagram page and you’ll see some redheads IG: @scalpsolutionsny

I have seen many healed SMP is there an ink that doesn't heal green? Everyone that I have seen the ink is green like a tattoo not like hair stubble.
That can be a combination of bad technique and not properly neutralizing the ink by the artist. You simply cannot just use diluted carbon black ink on all clients, depending on their undertones extra measures need to be taken like adding a neutralizer to avoid it healing blue/green. Hope this answers helps.

What's the most common size needles you use on top of the head mate?
.20mm on average and a .25mm for thicker skin/scalp
I can see in the future a machine will be used to do this operation .
There's an smp artist that recommends using lubriderm moisturizer for the scalp?
I cannot speak knowledgeably on it as I have never used it. The oil I use and sell is all natural with no preservatives, parabens etc.
