    This always seemed like something that was arbitrary, but when you put them side by side it’s so obvious! Thank you!

    I saw you talk about this once before and I so appreciated it because I am 5'2 and when those extra large handbags became so popular a few years ago, I felt like I had to get one to be in style. It looked like a was carrying a piece of luggage. It was crazy. So watching you explain portion sizes helped me so much, to feel like I actually looked better with something more in line with my size. Thank you.

    I’m a rock star, and have found wonderful large jewelry pieces at Chicos. They are pretty pricey, but you can get brand new and like-new pieces on eBay for a fraction of the price. Thank you for sharing!

    I have paid attention to the hair color part but hadn’t thought much about the size. Thankfully my purses are medium size because I am a movie star 😊

    Hi Shari! Loved the scarf episode ~ I don't like wearing patterns typically, but I'm learning from you, that based on my body shape, I should. Honestly, I think patterned scarves may be the perfect first step for me in addition color and pattern to my wardrobe that's basics black, denim and khaki 😂😂 I also appreciate that this is a very affordable transition. Love your advice & knowledge ~ keep on sharing💖💝💖

    Hello Shari, Brilliant advice! The real life examples are super helpful! Are there handbag measurement guidelines for each body style or should ladies simply use a mirror to finding their best size handbag?

    • @StylebyColor
      @StylebyColor  Před 4 lety +1

      Amy H no measurements but
      when you are out shopping, pick up a small, medium and large bag and hold them in the mirror in the store to get an idea of the size that looks best. Then use that as your guideline.

    I found this video really interesting. The match your hair tip makes good sense. I've always loved medium reddish brown accessories, which just happened to be the natural colour of my hair. Now I know why I bought handbags, boots, shoes, sandals in that colour. The scale of handbags for me has always been dictated by what I need to carry: wallet, keys, cell phone, prescription sunglasses, etc. I end up with a medium bag, which is just the size you recommend for a Movie Star, and fits me. Thanks so much.

    Hi Shari. I watched the video yesterday and was thinking about it this morning when getting dressed. If I am wearing socks and shoes do you count the socks? And does it matter that no one will see my painted toenails in my socks and shoes? If I will be outdoors wearing a hat and sunglasses does that count? What about a purse? If it's raining do you count the umbrella? When I have a hairclip or scarf in my hair does that count? When I am indoors and remove my sunglasses and purse do I lose points? And lastly, how is this different during Autumn and Winter? During those months we wear more items of clothing which people see but then we remove them if we will be indoors. Just wondering what your answers would be. Much thanks.

      @StylebyColor  Před 3 lety +1

      Hi Sherry, you do not count socks and shoes nor an umbrella. If you have your sunglasses on the whole time then you would count those but typically I don’t count my sunglasses. You would count hair clips and scarves. I would say not to count your purse or sunglasses because if you go inside and take them off then you don’t want to worry about that. Hope that all makes sense! Oh and it is the same in autumn and winter. I just don’t count your outerwear.

      Hi Shari, thanks for replying. Yes, that makes sense. I was thinking of your video again this morning. It's getting hot here where I live in Canada. The closer it gets to 20 degrees Celsius it starts getting too hot for me. I do not like to wear too much clothes and especially clothing that touches my body. So I prefer loosy-goosy pieces (that Stacey London calls it). I can't stand my hair so I just throw it up in a messy bun or pony tail. I guess my ponytail holder would count as 1 point? I can't stand anything jangling around. So no gorgeous earrings or necklaces. Rings are annoying and painful. I don't like any bracelets or watches. I don't wear belts or scarves either. So during the summer I wouldn't have very many points. Would there be another way of getting points without a lot of accessories and clothing pie ces? Much thanks again.

      Hi! It's been a year since this comment, so it may not be applicable anymore, but your comment resonates with me, so I wanted to say something.
      I see that you're paying a lot of attention to details, like socks and glasses and your hair holder. I used to do the same kind of thing (and still do sometimes, if I'm being honest). I'm an obsessive-compulsive perfectionist. It's satisfying when I feel like I got things "right", but it can also be really stressful - especially when I'm trying to make decisions!
      All the questions you were asking reminded me of myself, and of how much I sometimes hyperfocus on little details. So, if you're anything like me, I want to take the time to tell you: You don't have to be perfect.
      Fashion is not a rulebook. People can share fashion _suggestions,_ like in this video, but those suggestions are based on their personal views, not universal preferences. Some people might say "Never ever wear stripes!", while other people believe that stripes are very flattering - it's all just their personal preference!
      Ultimately, your fashion is unique and personal. It is a form of self-expression, a way of showing your own preferences! Therefore, there is no "wrong" way to do it.
      If you see a beautiful orange shirt in a store, but someone tells you that orange is "not your colour"? You can certainly consider their suggestion, but the decision comes down to how that shirt makes you feel. Do you feel happy when you wear it? Then wear it!
      The most important rule of fashion is to wear things that make you feel happy. ❤️
      Happiness + Comfort + Self-esteem > "perfection"
