Begonia Maculata Plant Loosing Leaves?

  • The Beginia Maculata plant starts loosing leaves due to inadequate lighting. This house plant prefers medium to bright indirect light. This means that you should find a brighter lit window inside of your house so that this plant can use as much indirect lighting as possible. You should figure on this plants need a 5 to 7 hours of high indirect light every single day.
Another reason your polka dot begonia plant could be loosing leaves is overwatering. It’s extremely easy to overwater this plant especially when it’s not getting enough sunlight because that also dries out the soil. When the plant doesn’t receive enough lighting it doesn’t give the soil a chance to dry out and then if you water it too early it will get to saturated. When the roots of house plants become too saturated with water a fungus starts to grow in it eats away at the roots of the house plant.

What are hard like specs on the back of leaves ??? Suddenly it looks bad! It’s a few years old and the leaves are dying and we just found these tiny, tiny dark brown little specs on the veins 😟

will this also help an Angel Wing Begonia that is dropping all of its leaves?

Sooo mine lost all of its leaves, because I had it in too much and direct light from the east. Since I had more time to take care of my plants recently, I've moved it to a spot with no direct light, but still a good amount of light and it's been progressively giving me more new growth. Except, I don't know if that's it, but it seems like those young stems don't provide enough energy to those young leaves, therefore those don't have enough strength to keep on living and they drop. So for now, I'm still kind of ending up with more stem, less leaf. And I know it's winter, so maybe it's legit not getting enough energy to sustain the newly-growing foliage. On the other hand it's also a plant from which the fungus gnats just won't go away, so that's probably not helping either. Haaaaaaaa...any other ideas? I think I'm gonna try to water it with a hydrogen peroxide solution next watering and see if that helps, but this is my plant nemesis. I know everybody has at least one hahahah
