So are you going to sue them because you do have a case. Pinkerton investigators are not in any state law enforcement. They cannot enforce the law. What they did to you and your wife is illegal. Take both companies to court. I wish a private investigator would knock on my door making demands.
All that means is he was free to decline giving the product back. They're legally clear to ask for it, and to imply there may be prison time for possession of stolen goods, and he's legally clear to either give the cards or tell them to pound sand. He chose the former, as is his right. Every employee of the Pinkertons can get fucked, as can anyone at WotC involved in this decision, but it's incredibly unlikely there is any valid legal action here.
@@throbacksnmore I'm well aware of Pinkerton's history and tactics. I'd be surprised if this was even in the top 50 worst things they've done in the past 12 months. As I said, every single one of their employees can take the fast train straight to hell. No exceptions.
We don't know the specifics of exactly how it went down. It's certainly possible they broke a law, however we don't know remotely enough for you to have said he *does* have a case and that what happened *is* illegal. We unfortunately give a large amount of leeway to companies stepping on the little guy, and even if they did intimidate him (which I 100% believe they did just based on what we do know), it doesn't mean they did something that crosses into what the law defines as being illegal.

I will also go as far to say, in agreement with you that companies like Pinkerton know how far they can bend rules. But that does not mean it should go unchallenged. Unless of course they have been traumatized enough and wish to just move on.
eBay did something similar like this for years but was only recently caught. The only reason they were caught is because the couple fought back. Yet there was no financial win.

(Edit: Also Ikoria is the rare invasion thats expensive) Lil bit of confusion probably because there is also a Norn in the set, but she is just called "Elesh Norn" and is a flip card not "Elesh Norn Grand Cenobite" which is the one you pulled. Claiming ignorance doesn't really work with businesses. If they're too ignorant to respect release dates, why keep contracts? If they knowingly broke release dates and try to be sly, why keep contracts? And that likely extends to other brands as well. If he can't respect WotC's release dates, can he be expected to respect Konami's?
