Ernie should've become a villain. Tired of emotional neglect from his parents, he becomes a rival spy and one of the main villains, which creates emotional turmoil as KC must fight her own brother.

For real he could have been this show's max. The fact that one of the teenagers was just straight up a bad guy (no matter how bad he was at it) in an otherwise superhero family and they kinda just go "oh max he's just in one of those phases you know he'll snap out of it...at some point... probably." was what made the thunderman's funny to me. Anyways I think it would have been really interesting if Ernie had used his smarts to sabotage his sister to knock her down from her golden child status and then slowly evolved in to some kind of genius foe hacker who directly oposses the secret service his family is a part of. Especially if they made it obvious to the viewer but kept it a secret from the characters until a big reveal during a confrontation for a season finale or something.

Kira lied to the organization and kept secrets from her family I can't blame her for joining the other side kira finding out about that says it broke our hearts 🤨😑 Mama your parents are the reason why she joined them you could've had some saying in that or noticed that your parents are terrible

Is no one gonna talk about how they practically force kc to be a spy?! When Kc gave up bcuz she wanted to be normal, they literally said they were disappointed in her. She must have felt her world crumbling down since all her life they’ve told her she was perfect and never told her they were disappointed in her. These parents clearly don't give a crap about their children's wellbeing. They will either nurture them if they have enough talent to become spy material or they will neglect you and treat you like crap. I wouldn't be surprised if it turns out they weren't KC and Ernie's actual parents, that the agency they work for put them in their care so they could train them into spies. It would have been a nice twist were that the case.
It's strange how Disney is "against" bullying but most of their jokes involve bullying someone or even the adults bullying the kids. No wonder kids are so mean geez

any woman that just happens to enjoy “traditionally feminine” things like fashion or makeup. the demonization of femininity is so perpetuated in every disney channel movie or show that it’s disgusting. camp rock, high school musical, kc undercover, lab rats, and so many more rely on having a main character whose “misunderstood and not like the other girls cause she likes reading” even shows that have feminine girls (ex: liv and maddie) turn these girls into jokes through their femininity.
@@teriyaki9832 Gabriella of HSM was pretty feminine, but Sharpay femininity was more exaggerated so it can look like Gabriella was like "not like the other girls", but she was not misogynistic and actually enjoy things like dresses, make up, got excited by the prom, she used high heels many times, etc; she was just also interested in books, science and study. But in general, she was feminine, not like Sharpay, but feminine after all.

It’s always bothered me that in shows/movies (disney specifically) the nerdy and unpopular girl who “can’t get guys” is like incredibly beautiful and actually has some kind of talent in something lol. They always took the “it girl” of the time and cast her as a dork that nobody liked…when in reality, she would definitely be the prettiest and most popular girl in a real school.
Ernie deserved so much better, I know how it feels to be the forgotten middle child😭

I always felt sorry for Ernie. I know that all sitcoms have one character who is the butt of all jokes, but half the time, he didn't even do anything to provoke the teasing.
it's pretty realistic to real life though. it's a fact that in cases of familial abuse, it's usually one child who faces the trauma from their parents and not anyone else.

The only thing that bothers me from this show is how the parents treated Ernie. They always underestimated him, and implied that they believed KC is good at everything, and Ernie will never be as good. They kept making it _quite_ clear that KC’s their favorite and Ernie’s just like... there, invisible. I found that annoying, and honestly? Not very funny. But... other than that bit, i really do like the show and think the show is great.

In Season 2 I was hoping Ernie would finally snap and have the courage to say to his parents and siblings that they always treated him wrong and always favored KC and encouraging her to mentally abuse him as well as take down his family and the organization by going to The Other Side I’m mad we never got to see a happy ending for Ernie but we saw a happy ending for KC because she never got repercussions and was never grounded, and at some point was encouraged by her parents to bully Ernie while he never stood up for himself like it should’ve been an episode where he snaps at his parents and siblings for always bullying and encouraging KC and never reprimanding her for it. She got away with it and got to go to Stanford University while Ernie was just the so called tech/nerd guy I wanted him to find his voice and finally leave his family for good.
i think we can all collectively agree this was the last semi-good show disney put out

when i watched KC's parents be so horrible to Ernie i didn't laugh once, and i watched it when i was 11!! like through out the show i was just WAITING for ernie to loose it with his parents, but it was barely ever adressed and that just pissed me off
I have always had a problem with that “ least favorite child” trope. Its always “ when is your birthday again?” or “ which school do you go to?” it's a huge selling point in good luck Charlie with Gabe, and I never knew why I didn't like it until I got older and realized that it's just plain neglect and made to be funny. It's such a horrible trope that Disney loves

parents having favorites is normal, but this simply is not. the blatant disrespect, exclusion and bullying he faces from his family members is downright abusive. I never liked or watched this show but seeing Ernie's neglect played for laughs is really sickening
@Buff Baby it would be better if things could work that way, but it's almost impossible for a parent not to have some level of preference toward one child or another. whether it's the kid who looks the most like you, the one who's the smartest, the one who shares most of your hobbies, the oldest child or the baby of the family.
you can love all your children immensely, but you won't be able to love all of them equally 100% of the time, if ever. people who say they do are lying to protect your feelings.
though having a favorite isn't inherently wrong. it's how parents showing their favortism that's an issue, because in doing so they'reu purposefully granting advantages to one child that are withhold from the other(s) which is unfair and abusive

I loved the show. It still cracks me up but I’ve always hated how they treated Ernie too. Like that one episode where they were like “why is he so unconfident?” And then it reveals that it was because his family keeps continuously tearing him down. Like SHEESH. I felt that shit.

Disney also did the "parents prefering the protagonist over the younger brother character" joke in WoWP , Disney had quite a mean spirited face

(remember the episode when Jackson was playing volleyball and the siblings' granny came to visit them and there was a problem bc the concert for british queen Hannah was supposed to have was on the same day as Jackson's volleyball match? tho at least in the end Hannah and Robbie came to see Jackson at the match)

WoWP gave each of the kids a different stereotype. The rebel,
The brain, and the dumb one. Max being the but of jokes mostly revolves around him being the dumb one and hence the comic relief. He also has less substance to his character to focus a story on. In WoWP he is not intentionally the least liked of the group.
Kcuc apparently made the little brother being unloved a running gag which I dont think any other Disney show did.
I loved this show, but does anyone else remember when KC had to break up with her boyfriend after her cousin hit him with a car and threatened to kill him? That was real heartbreak.
And when she kissed his eye. That was real second-hand embarrassment.

I truly feel sad for Ernie during the show. The parental favouratism really irks me and makes the show quite unwatchable. They don't treat him well. They are really bad parents and KC is just condescending all throughout.
Not to mention recruiting their teenage daughter into a dangerous line of work while praising her antisocial behavior (eg. forging mom's signature) and acting like it's no big deal. Their parents are the worst.
@@barbiquearea Totally Agree. It's as if they are pampering their daughter to be a sociopath (or antisocial). I was rooting for Ernie pretty much for the entire show, wishing for him to have his moment. His overshadowing by KC really sucks. Her lack of empathy really shows.
@@idolevin8795 I've never actually seen the show but by the sounds of it I assume Ernie's must really have it bad. I wonder if he ever gets back at his asshole family, say he betrays them or something?
@@barbiquearea I honestly don't remember, though I believe at some point he does become a spy as well, though on the technological stuff, staying in the van and all that. Still only as a support role. It is upsetting to see him pushed to the side like that all the time.
I kept waiting for her blonde best friend to have been the rival spy all along, but that would've been a better show. Not significantly better, but a bit better. And every little bit counts when you're talking Disney TV shows that are in way over their head from the get-go. KC strikes me as them trying to recapture the amazingness that was Kim Possible but without any of the things that made Kim Possible such a good show.

There's actually an episode in the later seasons where Marissa's a little jealous of K.C so the rival spy agrees to "train" her by making Marissa spy on K.C and do all the work for them.
This is literally one of my favorite Disney shows, up there with A.N.T Farm

Ernie gets the shirt end of the stick. So does Marissa. They deserved better. I actually shipped the two at one point. Anyways, they were treated as these stupid idiots who cannot do anything. The writing made them act more as props than anything else.
It stinks that right at the last couple of seasons, the show develops their characters.
