That’s a characteristic of most rodents, which is why rats and mice are known to chew through random objects that clearly aren’t edible. If the teeth aren’t used and worn down on a consistent basis, they become long enough to pierce the inside of the animal’s mouth, leaving it in constant, serious pain.
That would explain why some squirrels chewed thru a friend’s main wiring harness and she had to buy a new car. The little shits were trapped in the garage and were compelled to chew to manage their teeth.

Good question! Capybaras are herbivores! And apparently they have to watch out for jaguars and pumas in the jungle. But a lot of capys are smart and stay around parks and urban areas where they don't have predators.
capys maybe chill, but they earned my respect after I saw a capy tearing through an anacondas skin and flesh..very few animals could do such damage to a giant snake
I hope people don’t take this “Capybaras are chill” thing to heart. Cause next thing you know some moron is gonna walk up to a wild Capy and get some flesh torn off.
Capybaras are so cool! They have those huge sharp teeth that could absolutely destroy you, but they’re super gentle non aggressive and super friendly towards humans. I’ve never seen one in real life but I would love to
