How thick you need the centreboard from front to back, or how many layers of ply it should be will be dictated by the size of the boat your are building and the strength required. Hope this helps. Cam.
Hi Jeffrey, You are talking about the 'centreboard'. This can be made a few different ways but to form the curve up the front I have found it easier to cut this from a piece of ply to the shape you require. cut the curve from the tip of the bow back to the forefoot ( where the bottom starts to go straight ) and then contine the cut a couple of feet or so along the straight section. This will allow you to just join a piece of straight section to your shaped piece later on.
When making the hull the piece that runs from the back of the boat to the front, the main bottom part of the hull is that a solid piece or is that multiple pieces of plywood? I want to start making my own boat, but that is the only part that I can't seem to figure out
I had no plans austin. I just designed it and adjusted it as I was building. I did draw a sketch of what I wanted it to look like when finnished before I started though.
About 4500 australian dollars. Still got a little bit to go like seats, inbuilt fuel tank etc so it will probably end up costing just over 5 grand when complete..
This is helping me heaps mate.
I'm just building a 2.6 m lureflicking flatbottom
Great boat. How did you fit the bottom plywood.?
