Between August 28, 2023 to April 1, 2024, track replacement was being done on the 63rd Street tunnel, leading to the closure of that section. As a result, the F and M trains were swapped. M trains terminated at 57th Street station and F trains ran via the E/M along the 53rd Street line between 47th-50th Streets-Rockefeller Center and Jackson Heights-Roosevelt Avenue. During the day, a 63rd Street shuttle ran on one of the tracks between Lexington Avenue-63rd Street and 21st Street-Queensbridge with 20 minute headways, while the other track was being rebuilt. There is also a free Q95 shuttle bus (buses provided by Casey Stengel depot) that ran between Queens Plaza and 21st Street-Queensbridge during the day. At night, this service is taken over by the Q94 shuttle bus (buses also provided by Casey Stengel), which runs from Queens Plaza to Roosevelt. On April 1, F and M train service will return to normal and the Q94, Q95, and 63rd Street shuttles will all be discontinued.
