  • We turn a one time thing into maybe a recurring thing, as the fake Canyon Trails were actually not half bad. But will lightning strike twice with the faux BF Goodrich KM3?
    Nuofany NOT 2.2 BFG KM3s. amzn.to/43jJgZF
    The tires are 100% 1.9s, despite what the Amazon listing and the sidewalls say.

    easy to install on injora rims but takes a little time when screwing together, DON'T screw each screw down all the way work them down together a couple of turns at a time. I put six sets together that way and didn't have any problems.

      I don't know if that speaks highly of the clones, or is a scathing indictment of PL Predator KM3s. We already know the TimTin foams are every bit as good as the PL dual-stage for 1/3 the cost. If the cloners are getting close to the compound...

    Haha. Area #12 looks fun. Saw some more canyon I haven't seen again. Keeps getting better. I don't know why but the number 6.4 out of 10 comes to mind with those tires hahah. I think they would be a great RTR box stock tire glued to a rim.

    I too have been through the buying tires program. Every rig handles different with each of the tires I try. Every tyre from what I see, has it's place, time and temp. Some tires are great cold, others are very bad in the cold. Those very bad cold tires get warmed up and it's an all new tire again. There are no crawler canyons here in in Maine but there is a lot of dirt, sand, mud and boulders. Crawling indoors all winter on a dusty wood terrain is a whole different world. What will be my next tire........

Like you I was impressed with the 2.2 canyon trail clones and just like the real ones they work better if you do some modifications. The tires you are testing today are just like the proline Mud Terrain which is a pretty good scale tire. Interesting results for sure. One thing that puts me off about the Amazon stuff us that there are like a million "companies" all selling very similar stuff and I don't trust that there's any kind of consistency in their products. I have a set of injora ottsix klrm mud tires that seemed pretty good for my 1.9 ryft with hairbuns. They seem ok. After getting the knockoffs I did get a set of legit ottsix klrm's in the red compound. I put them on a 1.9 wraith with a much different setup. More for crawling. The real McCoy's are better but I am surprised how close the injoras are even tho they are on different vehicles. I know vehicle selection makes the most difference

    • @CrawlerCanyon
      @CrawlerCanyon  Před rokem

      What might be a big part of this is that there are some tires that rely on tread shape/pattern more than they do compound-- the Canyon Trail is the king of this, and I think why the clones were actually decent. Same for any of the huge-lugged Ottsix, like the KLR/M and USD Sticky. So there might be a bit of that here, as the compound of the faKM3s feels like... stretchy but also firm, somehow? I think they're using a firmer rubber, but just made a thinner carcass, so they "cheated" some compliance.

    • @williamkroshus8146
      @williamkroshus8146 Před rokem

      @Crawler Canyon I definitely agree with the tread design playing a big part, the compound is different for sure. I replaced the tires that were on the wraith with the klrm's. The tires that were replaced were the knockoff rock beast xls. Those things sucked compared to even the knockoff klrms. The knock off compound of the klrms was much closer to the legitimate ottsix tires. To be fair I don't have any other quality tires besides the ottsixs'. A the other tires I have are either axial tires or scamazon specials. Your content and outlook is very helpful and interesting to say the very least

    • @CrawlerCanyon
      @CrawlerCanyon  Před rokem

      Now you know I ordered one of those. Had no choice. The lack of an internal BEC is offset by the postage-stamp size and near postage-stamp weight, so I'm just curious to find out if it's just a half-wired AM32, and how much I'm going to have to do with the laptop to get it going. It is alarmingly cheap (even bare boards on AE go for around the same) but pre-judging it's definitely going to at best be an "I don't want to wait" option compared to the Rhino. The Rhino brings that 10A BEC and a programmer (no more arduino!) and those two factors alone give it the edge over absolutely anything else. But this is cheap, small, and desperately makes me want to put an outrunner in something dumb, like Lil' Fella.

    I really don't think, that your way of holding the transmitter is normal or common. If you hold it as a gun pointing straight forward, and you are bringing you right arm all the way to left side of your body, then no wonder you feel tension in your body. I would easily risk claiming majority of people hold transmitter in front of their belly, thus pointing to the right on an angle. This means tilted wheel as in Dumbo and MANY other radios of multiple price, helps tremendously. You are not happy with a top $ feature on a budget radio, because you use a transmitter in an awkward position.
    Range- criticising range on a radio system powered by 4 random AA batteries, while it's supporting HIGH VOLTAGE, which is again top $ feature on a budget radio, is a rookie approach, and you're not a rookie in RC or reviewing.
    Function/setting location in menus. I'd argue there is some logic to it. You do mixing per car/vehicle, not per transmitter. Where do you expect this feature to be, if not in Model menu? It's a very exclusive setting, you might use on one model in your (say) 20 model memory. It should be in model menu imo, not cluttering main menu etc.
    Voltage warnings- yeah I agree, but then again, both transmitter and receiver support HV, and you are using this FOR REVIEW on borderline flat batteries and you're crying about voltage warnings?
    I like your reviews, but it was painful to watch this. Maybe you had a bad day or something, this was not objective review, and piss poor performance from experienced reviewer.
    On top of menu faults- this crazy price radio supports firmware updates, and some stuff most likely be changed/improved. Unlike so many other cheap radios. One more thing to consider. Banggood is not shipping them yet.
    Are those on AliExpress official releases, or are they isdt esc70 situation?
    Going for an early review is cash grab channel style, and you're not one of them. If any of your viewers or friends, would be willing to share a later purchased piece, maybe it's worth a retest, even without a video.

      Here's something that I'd like you-- and I'm talking to YOU specifically-- need to understand: I don't have to like everything. I don't HAVE to like ANYthing. If I don't like something and you do, that doesn't make me wrong, and it doesn't make you right. It just means we have a difference of opinion. Let's ignore everything I said and (blissfully) everything you said-- the wheel and trigger tension are ghastly, and I wouldn't make myself live with it. I'm not standing up 90% of the time I'm driving, so I'm not resting my radio on my stomach-- that doesn't mean I'm "using it wrong." I guess what it means is that the Dumbo isn't suited to me, or vice versa. I don't like the ergonomics of the radio, and no firmware update is going to change that. How's about they get it right from the go, and then they don't have to fix it in post?
      I'll close by saying this: maybe English isn't your first language, so maybe there's something lost in translation. And I'm all for discourse, the comments are one of my favorite parts of the channel. But so help me, if you EVER come in these comments with that tone again, it will be the last time. If you think you have the qualifications to come in here and put me on blast, I'll tell you right now: you do not. Think you can do better? Go do better.
