Dont buy watches to sell. Buy watches to WEAR

That exactly what I'm doing now is collections, I have about close to 280 watches of all brands, ( another 30 on the way) and I really love them, I don't sell any of my watches!

I guess I am a watch collector and a watch giver. Whether it's an Ali Express brand or not I do tend to keep the watches I like and give away the ones I get tired of. Usually to my wife, family or friends. Sometimes people I meet. My point is a watch is fun to share, the gift of time is precious. Thanks Wes horology can be accountants worst nightmare I can feel your pain!

The purchase/selling ratio is blown up when considering 20% UK VAT (or similar, added to the purchase price) and 12% Ebay fee (subtracted from the selling price), which you did clearly state, but for everyone else out there please don't forget these things - and also, shipping costs when selling on Ebay. I'd be surprised if you made any profit after these considerations (not knowing what you get from CZcams for views & likes). Still an informative video!

When you are buying a watch on AE, look at the numbers sold. If the number is high, there is significant demand and you will probably do well with it on eBay. If the number is low, demand is low, so you will probably take a beating. You might consider keeping or gifting it rather than spend more time and energy just to take a loss. There are 2 main reasons some people will pay more on eBay than to buy on AE. 1) Time. The average wait for an order in the USA is 2 weeks to a month. We might be willing to pay a bit more to get it from a domestic source.
    2) Mistrust of the Chinese. Some fear that they will never see a watch they order from China. Also, if they buy from a domestic seller, the money for that watch has been previously paid to China. A domestic purchase results in no NEW revenue for China.
    Love your channel!

You should be able to sell for the price you paid based on the fact that you can deliver to the buyer in days, not weeks. That has to be worth something to someone.

Sold 6 AliExpress watches all for profit. Lowest was £10 profit and highest was £60 profit. Have two watches in my possession which I’m finding hard to sell. One of them is the S&S PRX homage. I like that one so I don’t mind keeping it.

Don't give up the day job Wes😅
San Martin seem to be pricey on eBay.
    99.999% of watches loses value.
AE watches are a cheap way to experience expensive brand watches.
There is no stress of loss, damage or theft of an expensive watch.
Keep up the good work and let's hope your viewership increases.

Very interesting, I was curious how they hold their value. I hadn't considered buying any AE watches to sell, but it seems like it wouldn't be a very successful enterprise anyway.

Ive been lucky with some watches ive sold, as ive not lost, mostly gained, three watches i ended up being £9 up when selling them to a pawn shop. (Three watches at £5 each, costing me £2 each)
Saying that though, theres so much more you could say.
The majority of people buying from AliExpress, aren't buying to sell on.
Yes theres value in them, due to the specs, which buying a well known high street brand would be triple the cost, if not more.
You are correct in saying that even on AliExpress there are certain names which people will not purchase.

People don't realise what what reviewers on CZcams have to do, to keep going, especially at the beginning, buying and selling hopefully at the bare minimum breaking even. The affiliate links don't bring much either.
Shame the boderry watch didn't fetch that much, as I think it looks great, can't say I've seen one like it.

Would like to see the listings for the quality of the pictures and number of pictures. These things can affect the sale price on eBay. Also your account rating and # items sold, how old is the account, etc.

Well, nice video, but nothing surprising though...When you see that even with some many Swiss brands, like Rolex, you can loose money, what did you expect from watches bought through Aliexpress?
Yeah models are cool, some of them even with high value on the quality and built, but most of the times, but often on sold prices on Aliexpress - So not very interesting for people on Ebay, as they can find a brand new one, sometimes for cheaper price comparing to a used one.

Try selling on vinted, especially for the sub £50 stuff. No sellers fees, just set your price (be prepared for low ball offers though) I've sold loads of Ali express watches on there and turn a small percentage profit, usually between 10 and 20%. Pick them up in the sales at a 'sharp price'....your words😅. And even lightly used ie for a reveiw you should at least get your money back. Its a tough market out there as you've illustrated. But give vinted a try.

So you have to flip the watches at a loss, however you didn't mention if you make any money from producing the videos? I have to assume that there is some sort off revenue stream for doing the vids? Im making the assumption the video streaming revenue is greater than the watch and resale value to make it worth doing? 🤷

This AliExpress watches are even more cheaper in Philippines' favorite platform Lazada. So much cheap that I was able to resell my Addies MY-049 (Luminox Recon Point Man 8821 homage) double the price I bought it. Maybe the marketing added to the value, i do good photography of the watch
Another watch to mention is the DUKA DK-V2150, I think homage to Seiko SPB455 or the SPB142J31 (Basically Seiko 62MAS), priced around $48 only in Lazada (or even lower during sale) but can be sold for $58 in the local market in my city

With the bond/connection you have with your viewers, as a trustworthy familiar face, you might have some added value above the level of your competitors on Ebay, so the viewers here might prefer to buy from you! Would be extra cool if you have channel merch, or at least a little card. Maybe a custom wriststrap with the channel name or anything. As soon as people prefer to buy from you on ebay, of course the 'scientific' value of the selling experiments is lost LOL since you would no longer be a radnom seller, but you would be selling to your viewers! :) :) I wish you and the viewers good and trustworthy and pleasurable trading!
