Meddling in Chile
It’s common knowledge that the US meddled in the affairs of South America throughout the Cold War. A perfect example of this is Chile. The US was concerned about the rise of socialism and communist sympathies in Chile throughout the 1960s, focused mostly around the figure of Salvador Allende. The US spent millions bolstering Allende’s opponents in the 1964 election, which Allende narrowly lost. With the 1970 election fast approaching, President Richard Nixon and his Secretary of State Henry Kissinger feared that Allende would finally take power.
The US’ fears were realized by Allende’s victory in September 1970. Soon after, Nixon authorized Project FUBELT in late 1970 with a budget of $10 million to foment a coup against Allende. It is the only verified record of a US President authorizing the overthrow of a democratically elected leader.
The US reached out to the only group in Chile with the power and potential to overthrow Allende: the military. They found plenty of allies, but also an obstacle: the Commander in Chief, General René Schneider. Schneider was an upstanding constitutionalist who would never support a coup, so the CIA decided to get rid of him.

I'm 74 and have lived through all of this history. The reason the "power's that be," get by with all this is because we are so busy trying to survive and feed our children, and we don't believe we can do anything about what's happening. We put "smart", people in control and expect them not to take advantage of their power. I have never seen a government that didn't take advantage of this in it's people.

Notice that most of the civil rights photos are in black and white? They had color photography then but printing the photos in black and white makes it seem like it happened longer ago than it actually did.

Yeah it’s totally weird and crazy how undercover law enforcement agents create these groups of friends or starts hanging out with a group of ppl, somehow convince them they should think and act certain ways about politics while preparing and buying weapons in case they need to use them, then convince them to start planning that use of them, then convince them to go along with said plan, and then as they’re about to enact said plan and commit crimes, the agents don’t even reveal who they really are by saying “hey don’t do it, I’m undercover law enforcement and you can get in trouble if you commit a crime” and that’s really really weird bc agents always reveal who they are before a crime which is why crime doesn’t exist and nobody is in jail.

As an American, our older ideals need to detach the definition of nationalism with the definition of supporting flawed systems. Because the whole thing was staged fool, it's just that most of the rioters were manipulated and completely unaware that they were being led right into a political trap, a very small number of people on both sides of Congress were in on this as well, they got the right reaction they needed from the media and everyone else that bought into this scheme and that paved the way for them to implement and put more laws in place to restrict your freedom of movement and your right to own property.
Nixon and Kissinger should be more hated than they already are. The US attempted to nuke India, among other atrocities. Especially in Asia. Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Bangladesh, and Laos. Now I don’t think USA had involvement with Thailand (though it wouldn’t surprise me if they did), but Thailand had the Thammasat Massacre.
I hope you do a video on 26/11 in India. It has been 15 years since that atrocity. And there is always something new that comes out about the tragedy.

I don't know about documents, but's widely believe the US did the same thing as in Chile, but in Brazil during the 60's, except in Brazil the coup worked throwing the country in a militaristic regimen for the next 20 years.

One minute in, the US clearly has always had enough money to pay black people reparations but refuse and because of that along with all of its other transgressions, it will meet a reckoning sooner or later.
Atonement aside, it makes absolutely no sense how America is willing to spend so much on foreign affairs, to this day, while Americans struggle. How can there be patriotism when your own country keeps you in poverty? All that money can go to nonprofits, housing, various grants for individuals and small businesses, food and gas alleviation, veterans, stimulus payments, education... my goodness man. All tax paying citizens should be thriving in this country. Instead, the government and government agencies goes around committing and contributing to atrocities both internationally and domestically. WTF!?

I think this video itself shows how slippery a slope it is when anyone starts to decide what's ok and what's not ok. Why is it ok to target the KKK and not ok to target the Black Panthers? It was in the best interest of social stability to target both, but then why should I get to decide who to target. Additionally change typically only happens when the people as a whole are vastly upset with people that are in power and decide to take action. The honest truth is most human beings don't get that upset unless they are directly effected by an issue. Why do you think there is suffering at all in the world. People starving, children going missing. No one cares until their direct personal sphere is affected. its a sad world everyone needs more empathy for one another.

The Black Panthers are not fully explained in this video, making them seem more criminal than they really were. The KKK and the Black Panthers are NOT comparable. The Panthers armed themselves and fought back against police brutality. Sure, there were some elements that went too far, but that wasn't the aim of the group. The KKK, on the other hand, were all about oppressing a minority community with lethal force.
