Let it be known, that the MAIN reason the queer community shat on the real house gays of weho is simply bc it interferes with drag race; which is basically the queer version of the Super Bowl, NASCAR, and every other sport with a touch of ANTM. I think what we forget is that if we want our community to behave better, we have a responsibility to DIRECTLY teach them and not to expect them to just get it. Right now both sides are doing the exact same thing and sitting back… criticizing the other and expecting them to behave accordingly to their wishes without any real education, contribution or aid.
Just talking to like minded individuals isn’t enough unfortunately and voicing your opinion out into the ether (even like me) yields small results. We have to put in the foot work… the hard work in order to incite real change.
Also, it’s not enough for everyone to just be seen, some want to showcase their outstanding talent and to see people like them rewarded because they’re good enough just like they know themselves to be. So liking Pose simply because trans people are on tv feels like a defeatist mindset, like we’re not good enough to be on tv otherwise unless as a handout.
As if the idea that very capable and talented trans actors without money don’t exist (when there are untrained straight actors who are very good & successful). To think that we’re all without education or means (despite a large number of us living that reality) is untrue and just as hurtful & toxic as any pejorative.
As a black person, I appreciate affirmative action for the access but I can take it from here. lolololol

Verrrry that!! I might be biased, a lot of my mom's friends have been on that show or involved w it (Trace Lysette, & my guncle Jack Mizrahi who co-prod Pose/Legendary) so ima ride for them regardless. But it IS a damn good show w amazing insight into how life was bitd. To say anything less is an insult.
Also GO SEE MONICA, an amazing film led by Trace Lysette who is a wonderful trans actress and ballroom icon. 🤍
There are so many queer ppl consistently making great art who AREN'T surrounded by controversy. I'm sickened by the way ppl grovel for morsels of clout. 🙄
