This is the first game I ever saw as a 7 year old. I knew nothing about the Redskins and watched this game in Herndon, Virginia before the family moved into the house in Clifton, VA. The 1991 Redskins crushed everything they saw at home the first few games. Hell they went 3 straight home games with a shutout. You can't get any better than that. Still I saw something magical that night that got me hooked to football ever since.
Hail, to the Redskins! Hail, Victory! Braves, on the Warpath! Fight! For old D.C! Run or pass and score we want a lot more! Beat ’em swamp ’em touchdown let the points soar! Fight on, fight on, till you have won Sons of Wash-ing-ton, RAH! RAH! RAH! Hail, to the Redskins! Hail, Victory! Braves, on the Warpath! Fight! For old D.C!
I’m a Browns fan and traveled to Cleveland to watch my first Browns game at their old stadium earlier on this same day. They lost to the up and coming Dallas Cowboys. Anyway, later that night my brother and I watched this game seething because Earnest Byner shoulda never been traded. He was the Cleveland Browns. It took them years to overcome his loss.
That's how stupid the lions were. Instead of kneeling the ball on their last possession like the Skins did, they decided to run plays which ended up getting one of their starters injured on the last play! 😂😂
@@cbod14 I'm glad it didn't. The Redskins won their most recent Super Bowl as a result. They haven't been the same since. Actually that season was the last time Detroit won a playoff game until this year.
I've been looking for this game for years, the only game from the skins last championship year that i'd never seen. THANK YOU!!!
Loving all the old Redskins games! Thank you!
I heard this one on the radio but I’ve always wanted to see it! Thank you very very much for posting this!
I remember this game. It was a lot of fun. Thanks for the upload.
Skip Carey RIP, One of the very best Sportscasters EVER. Miss him he was a natural.
He was great in baseball, broadcasting the Atlanta Braves games.
The 1st of three straight home shutouts by Washington that season

Thanks for posting this game I wish you could post the nfc championship game with these two teams
R.I.P. Skip Caray
Imagine if Dexter Manley was still with the Redskins this season. Wow.
Wow thanks for this
Thanks for the game
Imagine playing fantasy football and needing points from Barry sanders to win and he sits. When everyone said he is going to play.

That's why they got blown out. Cuz Barry was injured
Blowout would have happened either way. See the NFC championship game for confirmation.
Rematch in the 1991 NFC Championship Conference
If you had told me that would be the case after this game I’d have asked you to be drug tested
@@cbod14 It didn't help the Lions that Barry Sanders wasn't available to play!
@@ABattocchi I love & respect the hell outta Barry Sanders. He played in the rematch, how’d it go? Hint, not well.
