That ending gave me “it’s been fifteen years since the accident” vibes
What a great short. Criminally under-watched here.
Thank you!
Really interesting! I love your other work so this was wonderful to see. It reminds me actually - the last scene especially - of Orpheus and Eurydice in the underworld while they cross the River Styx, where he can't look back at her or else she'll disappear. It would be super cool to do a breakdown on this actually, it was unsettling and atmospheric and didn't rely on any tropes. Thank you!
Thank you! The writer Lawrie actually wrote this with that myth as a starting point. Originally it was a husband and wife pairing, but I thought it'd be more interesting to have two sisters. Thanks for watching.
I love everything about this and the cinematography is especially great
Flatypus Films Thank you, much credit to cinematographer Michael Paleodimos!
I came here because of the Crow catastrophe video, but all of your works are masterpieces
Just stumbled across you after seeing a Reddit video about strange internet things, that thankfully brought me to the Internet Story. You have some of the best storywriting and animation skills I’ve ever seen. I hope you’re enjoying whatever you’re doing now, and I hope to see another film from you :)
Edit: Took me a while of wrapping my head around the story, but I think I got it and that the the river serves as a metaphorical barrier between life and death? Which is why her sister never makes it that last bit across (however she never found her sister because the wind changed and she just imagined finding her sister) Could be wrong but the metaphorical idea seems interesting to me. Amazing film, keep up the great work
Thank you Ethan for the lovely thoughts! I'm actually launching a new film this month, so look out for it. I've also just launched a Patreon if you're curious :) www.patreon.com/AdamButcherFilm
I remember watching this and i could only obsess over this
And years later still captures my fancy
If this was made into a real movie I would watch it all the time. Really great it is like a mystery and horror and the suspense when she was looking for Anna It kept me on the edge of my seat and bravo for making something this well made.
I really liked this, it has a kinda still, grounded but unsettling feel that works really well
"*Atmospheric* suspense drama" I see what you did there.
12 mins feels like 1 hour but not in bad a way, more of in a it feels like an efficient, not wasting my time feature length movie kind of way. Also sad realization at the end just hits different.
What a great piece of cinematography. Underrated channel right here
I love the feeling of suspense, from the music to the camera work. Definitely have a bad feeling in my chest.
I wish I could bring more people to your material - you deserve a good shot at a broad audience, with large splashy budgets to do what you like. It's nice to see a director with direction : )
Why this doesn't get viral??? This is my first time writing under someone's video. I'm very picky when it comes to stories but u're awesome!!
These comments have become way more active since MatPat sent us here from the crow 64 video. Also this was a masterpiece and I love the eeriness of it
who else is only here thatnks to game theory
Great Movie! I loved it.
Very nice Adam, very atmospheric and tense. I love it
Thank you!
Wow very cool. love the spacious far out shots. The sound is great, made the entire thing very unerving.
Now why did the sister disapear at the end. hmmmm
Glad you were unnerved, one to puzzle over perhaps!
She never even made it to the cabin.
she actually died and her last thoughts before she passes is her rescuing her sister, but she died before she got her across the river which is past the point the chemicals can reach, note her the sisters hand turns into her walking pole too and her body at the end
My guess is that the older sister died when the wind changed, which you could see if you were watching the red scarf, and that 1) that was her dying dream of finding her sister and saving her, or 2) she died and they were both ghosts?
Very good film!
@@-0rbital- or huluccenations
so underrated
This is an absolutely phenomenal film. Amazing job!!!
This has got to be one of the best CZcams horror shorts of all time
God, everything about this film is beautiful and suspenseful and creepy, from the wide, desolate shots to the fantastically unsettling score, but I really don’t get what it was trying to convey.
I really enjoy this type of story. Thanks for this!
It takes so much talent to create something like this. I wish more people could admire your work as well as me
havent seen any uploads from you in a long time, this was pretty good
Thanks, yes, making new films takes a long time! Thanks for being patient.

Everything about this is incredible. Great job!
also youtube algorithm promotes 15 minute videos that took as long to make over this??????
Your work inspires me to pursue a film career myself, using it as reference for cinematography and storytelling. Can't wait to see more!
Wow! Great to hear!
6:43 hit me like a gut punch. Good stuff.

Have you shared this around? its a great short film!

Would you care to explain it to me
At 6:42 the wind changes and she inhales the gas. The rest of the video is what she hallucinates as she is dying.
whats wrong with the youtube algorithm this should have 420 million views what
im confused
h
Sooo who else is here looking for clues?
