Excellent interview - outstanding production. CHEERS...
An alternative story, perhaps issuing from one of his bandmates, is that Crosby didn't like the Davis version of Guinevere at all, and Davis was quite put out when he told him!
That is totally in line with what I read in several spots including an interview with Crosby himself. In the interview I read which mirrors what you wrote, Crosby claims he was mad because Miles didn't offer to share his girlfriend ( the one with "legs up to here") with him. Since Crosby was a well known cocksman back then (1969?) This story rings true, and would only embarras him in later years when this interview was conducted. Bottom line, Miles version was quite haunting. Perhaps brilliant. Oh well. Live long enough and you get a chance to white wash our own life story.
Davis's version of Crosby's Guinevere IS brilliant. But it's way too subtle for folks. Along with Recollections and Feio, also from the Bitches Brew sessions, it has been marginalised.
Good One !!
