- Aaron Judge is killing it thi syear and is the current front runner for AL MVP. One thing that is a little confusing about Aaron Judge are his rookie cards. He has dozens of different rookie cards and trying to distinguish which one of them is the best is difficult. In this rookie card rankings video I will break down the top 15 Aaron Judge rookie cards and help you identify his BEST rookie cards.

This was my first year buying sealed Heritage. I have singles of a few players but never ripped it. My kids really enjoyed it. I'm torn because I like the concept of it, but so few of the cards come out clean compared to other sets on modern, premium stock that it's hard to trust the return on the product. Curious to find Heritage make the top 15 list though for RC, so maybe I'll pay a little more attention moving forward to the RC I pulled out of Heritage

That's a 1960 design. One of the easiest sets in the history of baseball cards to spot and remember. One of the best Topps sets and reasonably affordable.
Yeah, Judge's Heritage rookie was in the 1968 design.
1960 I believe is the only landscape format topps made on the current size stock at least the flagship set. 55 and 56 were landscape but they were a larger sized card stock. Beautiful cards

I pay a lot of attention to pop and Gem rate when deciding which rookie cards to buy...I'm curious what will happen with demand over time if there's just so many Topps Chrome 10s of all these guys out there. Perhaps the Fire, A&G, Heritage, Archives etc will be worth more due to scarcity. Thoughts?

Just picked up that 2017 Topps Chrome RC in a BGS 10 Prestine I'm a Die Hard Yankee Fan Jeter is my PC but it took fir Judge to have the yr hes having to finally pull the trigger im a realest I think we're over achieving im 🙏🏻 Cashmen can get us a Top Starting pitcher at the deadline cause we not even half way thru yet

Amazing how in 2 months since this video came out the prices have changed dramatically. The Topps Chrome in Psa 10 is going for about 3 times the $120 and is around the $300-$350 dollar area.
I got lucky and got a bowman chrome full sized for 180. It’s going for thousands rn.

Man I keep selling my player collections too soon...I sold off my Aaron Judge cards including Topps Gold rookie a year or two ago. Also sold my Devers stuff too soon. I've still got the Soto and Acuna collections though
I think Judge will have a huge 30's in his career..... If he is able to eclipse the 61 homer mark he could claim the highest clean HR record....

I just picked up a raw Judge 2017 Topps Chrome refractor #169. Judging (no pun intended) by the looks of it, I'm thinking it'll grade no lower than an 8.5.
Cards are still cheaper than what I would expect!

I think he has a very long ways to go. He will need to stay healthy and play well the next 4 years (after this one) if he can average 5 war a year for the next four I think it is a real possibility, but it will be hard with his late debut.
No. Lifetimes Yanks fan but he's 30 already (Mookie is 29 and look at how much he's accomplished this far compares to Judge who hasn't had many healthy seasons. The years his healthy he's a savage far and between though). I blame the front office for this being they brought him up so late (his first Bowman card is 2013 and began in 2017!?!?!)and I bet he thinks about that and resents the front office just like mostly all of past yank stars e.g Jeter recently revealing in his recent documentary. Doesn't have many years left just depends on rings, mvp, and staying healthy
@@Southpaw_canvass sux great players get stuck in the minors cause of the position they play, Probably had ichiro in rt field at the time I forget yanks roster, dodgers have great players stuck in there farm system now pushing 25 yrs old coulda been in mlb at 21 but not gonna take mookies or any other star on that team, If judge breaks HR record might be tough keeping him out he only has 700 hits a quarter of that is HR's thats crazy! If he stays healthy and plays until 40 gets close to 2000 hits, n he's well liked too will see
@@Southpaw_canvass yankees should trade some of there prospects to get better Volpe, Pereza, everson perierra, cabrera all play short or 2nd all good, trade some to beef up other spots, wish my phill's could get volpe or peierra for 2nd base

where would you place the topps holiday sets, as these have lower print runs then most of these flagship sets?
Very low. Holiday has a limited supply, but an ever lower demand. Just from comparing eBay sales of other players, but products like Holiday and Opening Day are treated by the hobby almost like gimmick cards. They are a watered-down version of the flagship, when flagship is already an affordable product for the masses. In an era where collectors seek exclusivity through Parallels and pop counts, a cheaper version of the mass produced base isn't held in much regard.
Disclaimer... I still collect the Holiday of a few players (I have an Acuña and an Ohtani in SGC 10, for example). So I'm not hating on it, just being candid with my opinion.
I remember when that sapphire was going for 200.00.
Too bad he didn't have a 2016 Topps Update. It would have made that set actually interesting, and it would have prevented the stigma of a series 1 rookie card (series 1 players are in every product all year so there is a saturation effect)
IMO his Bowman's Best is one of the best looking cards, I have it in a REFRACTOR 🙏🏼

You know, the Target only, Bowman mojo mega box ROY card is much rarer than most of those & Beckett lists it at over $120 for the base version. There are green and purple and perhaps even an orange. You can also find them fairly low priced & they seem to me to be real steals with a good deal of upside. This card should be on here imo. It came in the same boxes as the 1st Ohtani cards as well. At $30-40 (or even less!) seems a very good speculation.
Hi Corey, That card is definitely gorgeous, but it breaks the rules of these videos as it is technically a parallel/insert. It is not a part of the base checklist but is a separate insert checklist. I hope that makes sense. Thanks for watching!

Scotty, would you rather have a PSA 10 Chrome or a PSA 9 Chrome refractor?
9 refractor for me
What is it for? Personal collection or "investment" card you plan to resell later?
I don't mind having 9s in my PC because it allows me to buy more cards. But for cards I see as an investment opportunity i prefer 10s (I like SGC bc I feel it has more opportunity to increase in value relative to PSA).
But if you can get a good deal on a 9 that is below market value (or below your anticipated future market value), then you can still make money on a 9. In that case, being a 9 or 10 is irrelevant because you're assessing inefficiencies in the market, not the card itself.

Normally it would have, but since it is a dual with Tyler Wade it doesn't carry much value in a high grade unfortunately.

And heres the most anger inducing part. There are only 45 PSA 10 2017 Panini Prizm Base (Chronicles) and 382 PSA 10 Optic Rated Rookie, but because people cry SO MUCH about logos as opposed to the player on the card, great looking cards get dismissed, as always.
I forgot to mention at the beginning it would be licensed cards only. I think those are important cards in the hobby, but people tend to get upset when I include then
I don't think that is a reason to be angry... if you like Panini, you should be glad the market doesn't value them, it keeps them cheaper to collect and you can buy more quality cards. I think of Panini cards as I would a foreign stock market... it's not that they're worthless, but it's just simply a different market and should be treated as such.

I would not invest in Judge (people that always buy his rookie cards when he's hot end up regretting it when they dump when he gets injured every year). Always rakes, but ends up hurt all the time. Hardly able to finish an entire season without getting hurt. It's a shame because he could be an all-time great if it wasn't for the injury issues.
He has not been injured since 2019 and he’s only had 2 actual injuries that have kept him out for significant time. It’s not like he’s Byron Buxton

I think this is a very valid concern, but I think the Yankee effect applies as well and mitigates this some. The Yankees have such a large fan base their players get a little extra hobby boost because demand is greater than it is for players of other teams. Add in that Yankee fans are accustomed to having iconic, all-time greats on their team AND they haven't had that since Jeter retired, Judge is THE guy and gets another boost in demand.
I also think he wins the AL MVP this year, which will cement him into that Jeter-esque legend...especially if they win the WS.
I don't collect Judge (i have 1x Chrome base raw and 1x Bowman Inception patch auto) but I am really curious to see how his stock bounces around during his career year, on a WS favorite team, heading into free agency. If he leaves the Yankees, what will that do to his market?
bro. I bought psa 10 bowman Chrome or on top of that pyramid for40 bucks. How much it’s going on eBay . I bought it for 40 at at a vintage local store.
In imagine his bowman psa 10 for 40 dollars.
Then you find a silver luka psa 10 for another 40 at a vintage store.
Imagine is judge was up at age 21 plus did not miss alot of games due to injury! He is 30.......he's just not consistent to invest in.
He can still get to 500hr and 50 war.
I mean, he plays five more seasons and he projects as borderline hall of fame at worst. A lot of his value will be determined by who he signs with. If he stays in NY or goes to another big market, his value will continue to rise.
