My First Cycling Journey from Malaysia to Singapore

  • In this video, I capture memories of our first cycling adventure from Malaysia to Singapore.
Sometimes, we get so caught up in the demands of society that we lose sight of ourselves. When that happens, we should remember the lyrics from Avicii's song "The Nights"-"live a life you will remember"-and pursue what we truly want to do.
I was reminded of this by Dang, a Vietnamese traveler I met in Malaysia. He lived in the moment and enjoyed his journey with pure joy. The beauty of travel lies in these unexpected encounters. I hope you enjoy this video!

The answer I found in life is to earn enough to spend and enjoy small happiness. By finding happiness in yourself, you can find happiness in everything else. It seems like you just needed a close friend to enjoy your daily travel with and perhaps a friend in Japan.

that's true. While I felt free and happy while traveling, I also felt the emptiness of everyday life in Japan.
      I'll try to figure out.
      thank you

What a journey you've been on, Saiko, physical, and spiritual. I've never done anything like what you're doing, and seeing what you've been seeing and hearing your thoughts about it all is just amazing. Don't know where you are right now, but wherever you are, I hope you're doing well!

Travel is the best form of education, you learn so much. Doing things in the spur of the moment can be the most exhilarating of things to do, you pushed yourself and challenged your way of thinking. It shows the world is a big place and your daily grind was bringing you down. Now you found your purpose, what you work and strive for, to have the freedom to travel and express yourself. Well done Saiko chan. Im looking forward to my Osaka trip in 3 weeks, ive missed my second home!

08:16 I don't know about other countries. But in Indonesia, honking while you're passing a pedestrian, a cyclist, or a motorcyclist is a way of letting them know you are passing them. Kinda like a safety reminder that there's a vehicle passing you. Maybe it's the same in Malaysia as well

    • @Glee73
      @Glee73 Před 16 dny

i'm from Malaysia. have travelled extensively in Indonesia.. i can confirm that the honking in Indonesia is exactly as you described it. Unfortunately, in Malaysia.. honking is usually far more aggressive in nature most of the time. People here are more impatient on the road. But once out of the car, people are friendly, kind and generous.. just not very much behind the wheel.

Saiko you are so brave! I wish I had your courage. I'm glad you're still having adventures, and taking care of yourself! I'm sorry you and the Vietnamese tourist had an argument later, I hope it wasn't too heated. Sometimes dealing with people is difficult... Please stay safe and keep making memories!

What an amazing cycling journey it has been! The views are really breath-taking! I think cycling makes the journey a lot more enjoyable and allows you to take it all in more as opposed to being in a car or bus (especially when you take those side streets away from the craziness) but maybe that's just my opinion 😅
I remember that in the beginning of your travels you said that your main goal was to put yourself in uncomfortable situations interacting with people so that you can learn, grow and create amazing memories that will forever stay with you. I believe this video is proof that you're doing it!
    Well done Saiko!
As always, thank you for the video and stay safe and healthy! 😊

Saiko, don't worry about what will happen 5 - 10 years down the line. Live each day as if it's your last, and enjoy life. And OMG, you're going to be so sunburnt. Please apply ample sunscreen and wear a long-sleeve shirt or get an arm protector at least. You need to protect the back of your neck and the top of your legs from getting burnt. Ride safe, and take care of both you and Dang!

Hello saiko hope you are well, I'll just want to give you some practical advice 😊
True Happiness came from simple living not luxury life. Appreciate every little things you have. Yes we need money to live but always remember we don't live for money 😊
Another advice 1. Take advantage of your health before you become sick. 2. Take advantage from your wealth before you become poor. 3. Take advantage from your free time before you become busy. 4. Take advantage from your life before death.

Saiko-san, Welcome to Malaysia and I just found your video. Two important items I will personally recommend to you ( for your safety as you cycle, anywhere) are A Rear View Mirror (firm mounting and avoid any design with a flexible neck) and A Hi-Visibility Vest .You can buy one for rm10-12 at Mr DIY. Also be alert on the road.I had cycled from KL to Singapore too way back in 2013 on a touring bicycle.Karada o kino tsukete kudasai! chan, Kampar, Perak.

We had arguments over trivial things. It was difficult to spend 24 hours together because the environments and cultures we had lived in were completely different.
In the end, we made a good friendship.
