Potala palace was built by the great 5th Dalai Lama and Norbhulingka Palace built by the great 7th Dalai Lama. Before the Chinese occupation, Tibet was always a peaceful, happy and a blessed place. BHOE CHONDEN SHINGKAM to be more accurate. Recognition and respect for our forefathers who not only were able to bring the Dalai Lama into exile but, they were the ones who started and established the Tibetan exile government. Before Chinese occupation,it’s not a happy and peaceful place, it’s a backward , barbarian place. No school, no hospital, lamas and monks were bosses who brainwashed people and people were their slaves. Therefore you have to study real history of Tibet . You maybe brainwashed in the tcv school.

Poptala was never built so, please correct the spelling error! The great 5th DL started the construction in 1645 after one of his spiritual advisors, Konchog Chopel (died 1646), pointed out that the site was ideal as a seat of government, situated as is between Dreoung and Sera monasteries and the old city of Lhasa. It was then completed later on.

Yes, it was initially built by King Songtsen Gampo in the 7th century AD but, rebuilt in the mid 17th century by the 5th Dalai Lama.
