Yep. And back then the news just seemed more trusted, more legitimate. You didnt have 8000 different sources online and on TV for world news...just a couple on the major channels and back then they did a much MUCH better job
I miss Peter so much. He left us way too young. Did you know this was the second time he anchored for ABC. He anchored unsuccessful for 2 years in the mid 60s. By the time World News Tonight premiered on July 10, 1978, Frank Reynolds & Peter Jennings reinvented themselves. By the time Frank died way too young in 1983, Peter became the sole anchor. He was on the air nonstop all hours for days covering the Persian Gulf War in 1991 and (of course) 9/11. Rest well with Frank Reynolds.
A great theme with a great newsreader! I actually like the logo they use at the end better than the one they use at the beginning for them, especially the one at 1:45.
