Today, I have dam good job, a loving family, and my two girls are going to public schools and they will be going to college as well. Every time I hear about some poor black kid who got shot up or arrested for whatever reason, I always think, that could have been me, if it wasn't for my moma. We cant blame our failures on anyone but ourselves. We cant depend on anyone else to fix our issues. I remember the day I went for my first job interview at very nice firm, owned by two Jewish brothers. I had my daddy's pants and shoes and a white long sleeve shirt a bought at Walmart, all groomed up proper. There was two other applicants as well in the lobby. Even though I got there first then they did, I was the last one they called. I gave them my resume that was written by my professor. They asked me things that had nothing to do with the job itself, but at that time I thought it was. They asked me, if I ever been arrested? Did I have any kids? What I thought of white people? But the one big question they asked, "who are you loyal to?" I didnt know what they wanted to know, so I told them the truth, "I am loyal to my family" I was hired the week after. They never told me what the reason was they hired me, but after working for them for almost 9 yrs, I know it wasn't because I was black. If we make excuses for not taking our children to school, we are teaching our children excuses for not going to school.

Y'know as a black person myself, I was once discriminated against a cop when I was nearing a basket ball park. Tell me if this sounds any familiar...I was walking to a park, unbeknownst to me, I was standing on the sidewalk waiting for someone, A white officer just out of the blue driving down come and drives past, looking at you in a sort of way, then greets you, then shakes your hand, and of course what we wear shows how they thought of us at a point. He asks to search. In my mind I'm wondering why..so dumbfoundedly I accepted it, and another cop comes in a nervous attempt to back him up..I didn't knew then because I was a kid, ignorant growing up..and literally I was near a park so what would be so suspicious about it, but overtime I realized...it goes way deeper than this....

People play this system against black people and think they're going to win. I'm a Republican while heartedly and can say honestly cops can be wrong and the people in this system. As a white Canadian it troubles me that this conversation has to be had. 😔 A human life is a human life. Yea, there's bad neighbourhoods and bad people, but generally both associate together. The difference in Canada, is that these neighbourhoods aren't perpetually designed to be racially segregated in nature. White people, black people, any and all people do some bad shit. I know the civil rights movement is only about 60 year removed. Alot of change has been made. But when things like city planning affect the demographics of neighborhoods and how they are constructed. That's a problem that needs to be a addressed. It's one thing to plan new developments and neighbourhoods based on a families' income, But I think it stupid and maybe even impractical to sell exclusively to one majority or minority. To me, alot of changes can still be made..

As a white, my heart goes out to the African American community. I feel bad for the problems you face based on your race. It's wrong. Personally, I've never understood why racism should exist at all. To me, we are all the same. I could care less about race. Maybe some day I can own my own business and provide good jobs for young people of all races, including young black men. Why would I tell my future kids that their skin color could admit a threat response? I would tell them that no matter what skin pigmentation all humans are hostel to some extent and all possess a soul to some extent. Every time I hear about some poor black kid who got shot up or arrested for whatever reason, I always think, that could have been me, if it wasn't for my moma. We cant blame our failures on anyone but ourselves. We cant depend on anyone else to fix our issues.
I remember the day I went for my first job interview at very nice firm, owned by two Jewish brothers. Even though I got there first then they did, I was the last one they called. I gave them my resume that was written by my professor. They asked me things that had nothing to do with the job itself, but at that time I thought it was. They asked me, if I ever been arrested? Did I have any kids? What I thought of white people? But the one big question they asked, "who are you loyal to?" I didnt know what they wanted to know, so I told them the truth, "I am loyal to my family" I was hired the week after. They never told me what the reason was they hired me, but after working for them for almost 9 yrs, I know it wasn't because I was black.

Y'know as a black person myself, I was once discriminated against a cop when I was nearing a basket ball park. Tell me if this sounds any familiar...I was walking to a park, unbeknownst to me, I was standing on the sidewalk waiting for someone, A white officer just out of the blue driving down come and drives past, looking at you in a sort of way, then greets you, then shakes your hand, and of course what we wear shows how they thought of us at a point. He asks to search. In my mind I'm wondering why..so dumbfoundedly I accepted it, and another cop comes in a nervous attempt to back him up..I didn't knew then because I was a kid, ignorant growing up..and literally I was near a park so what would be so suspicious about it, but overtime I realized...it goes way deeper than this....
