Whenever they visit South India used to travel long in search of real North Indian food. I am not talking in bad taste. Same times when South Indians visited North India they also suffered food problems. There were no unlimited Rice Thali available in North India that time. Food habits of Indians are drasticaly changed during last,60 years. My next generation family is fond of South Indian food and loves very much. Now I also enjoy it some times. South India friends enjoy Rajma Chawal which I dislike.
At the end we are neighbours...love each other....

It pains to know that Absolute Barbecue was overlooked for Barbecue Nation.
While in Kolkata, try pure bengali cuisine at Bhajahari Manna Restaurant or ( 6th Ballygunge place Restaurant ,oppo Nehru Museum, Esplanade). Focus there on fish items. Specially Bhetki Fish Paturi.
