That's so awesome. The stigma attached to tattoos has slowly been breaking down overtime, especially with the ability to make more detailed and realistic art, and now I can take my body and cover it in beautiful art that tells a story and stays with me forever. I only have 4 tattoos now but my plan on having most my body covered, and already know what I want it to look like so it's awesome seeing something I'm passionate about bring both joy and sense of normality to someone's life who wants it. In fact I could see tattoo artists being incorporated into a part of the breast cancer treatment and recovery for this exact purpose.
I've never thought about someone having to go through this but when it was done and she saw she cheered and was happy ! That is a priceless gift of self confidence . Congratulations

I`m not a tattoo person but this is such a powerful tool for giving self confidence back to women who have suffered from breast cancer . ***** The redness goes away. I am a tattoo artist and what you are seeing is blood flow to the freshly tattooed area. Once that heals, it will be soft and natural looking, and a better coloration.

You don't have to go all the way to see Vinnie to have areoles tattooed on to reconstructed breasts. I had mine done yesterday at The University of Chicago Hospital. My plastic surgeon, Dr. Park, brings in an amazing lady, Lori, who became a certified tattoo artist that specializes in areole tattooing. She listened to me and together we selected the perfect shade of pigment. I couldn't be happier with the results. They look just like my real ones did. Plus, it was all covered under insurance!
This is one of the most positive tales of strength that I have seen. I'm happy and proud for the woman, and grateful for the tattoo artist. Rarely does a video restore your faith.
This a real success story. Learning you have cancer of any form can be terrifying. Then to have parts of you removed that have identified you as woman is devastation on top of terror. Notice she felt she wasn't "pretty enough" to be married. She felt deformed in her mind. Some women would just surge forward and get on with life, but for those who feel like damaged goods, this is a truly healing thing. I'm glad this man is willing to do this for women.

If you're a breast cancer survivor and are looking into something like this, you should definitely reach out to your tattoo shops and see if they do this. I know Thomas Harkness at Alternative Arts in Charlotte, NC does it pro bono, and he mentioned knowing folks across the tattoo community who do this.
You are a Beautiful Lady in so many ways. Never stop looking for Love. There are so many guys out there (myself included) that would be proud to put a rock on your finger and spoil you rotted.

There is not one color of nipples, every nipples are different, and most of the time there are more like light pink rather than brown.

I have a friend who had that done after reconstructive surgery. She also had a double mastectomy. She looks wonderful now, and is cancer free.
Wow this joint is about 3 mins from my house. Would have never guessed they were doing such amazing things.
