Hi, guys. I am a 79-year-old Uruguayan and I was lucky enough to hear Pavarotti live when he visited Uruguay in the 1980s. He ended his performance by singing "Nessum Dorma", it was really wonderful. For me it is a pleasure to listen to opera. Sorry for my English, my language is Spanish. Hugs.
Your English is excellent!
Your English is perfect.
@@christinekelly5916 Thanks ! !
@@scottperry6604 Thanks ! ! !
Your English is incredible x
No matter what style of music people like, they all understand the sheer perfection of Pavarotti’s voice.
It is heartwarming to see young people melting to this performance. The best vocal performance ever in my opinion
This is beautiful to watch and hear..❤❤❤
Mine too
I'm italian. I'm so proud of him
I'm half Italian and very proud of him as well as Puccini for writing it!
I'm Canadian from an English/Scots/Irish / Swede / Yugoslavian heritage ... He's in my limited view the best tenor who's existed, but I'm not sure pride-of-nation is relevant. ... Okay, but if I were 1/18th Italian, I'd probably say the same thing.
@fingling8 😂agreed,I had pizza once, could that count as a connection with the legendary tenor?
my God, you should be. He was heaven sent & still lives on. I mean listen to this 😢💔❤️❤️
@@martindunstan8043 Only if it had olives and capers, and not pineapple.
I'm not a huge opera fan but when this man sings you listen. Such a powerful, mesmerising voice.
That is so true. We were playing Pavarotti when my nephew was a little over 1 year of age. He was able to ask 'Who sings?' for the same reason.
Chills, no matter how many times I hear it.
It is on my playlist.
Always good to see people of a different generation and cultural background that you might expect, appreciating excellence in music, which crosses all boundaries.
Well said!
Actually I met him in person right after the 1990 Rome Tenors concert at the airport. Husband and I turned around and there he was! And he was absolutely charming. NO diva airs about him.
@@Spo-Dee-O-Dee He actually squatted down to the level of our seven year old to ask whether his ambition was to be either the next Gerd Müller or Fritz Wunderlich. (Husband was German).
@@Spo-Dee-O-Dee Many divas would have overlooked the child...but kids were obviously something special to Pav...he DID do a lot of charity work for children in war zones. A reflection perhaps of his own childhood, given when and where he was born? But unlike many others..he apparently never forgot what it was like..
wow!
@@susanhuy2819non tutti lo sanno ma Pavarotti da giovane è stato un insegnante di educazione fisica di scuole elementari quindi molto vicino ai bambini .
GREAT JOB GUYS, love the way you don't interrupt the music every few minutes like others.
No matter how many times I have listened to this performance it’s like the first time.
Awesome.. he was one of the greatest opera singers in history
It’s so nice to see young people enjoying opera
He touches your soul doesn’t he? Absolutely the best tenor there’s ever been!
Seeing the utter joy on your faces made me smile so much. Music is the language of all of us and it needs to be sung aloud for all to hear. Well done.
So happy to see young guys taking the experience it is to listen a piece like this to their heart.
This performance lifts you out of your body into Heaven!
The power that man had was fenomenal.
The greatest tenor of all times! ❤❤❤❤❤
He was the GOAT
Music is universal and transends explanation . I have no idea what he is singing about, but it moves me to tears every time I hear him sing. Thank you for sharing ❤️
Me too
Instantly make my hair stand on end , I’m a 53 year old grown man and it makes me cry , it’s so beautiful .😁👍🇬🇧
I cannot listen to this without crying. It hits the soul hard. Glad you’re hearing it. Opera is nusic.
His singing is like seeing a big flock of birds passing the sky.
Dude on the right... This hit you deep! You're the reason I kept watching. When he sings, I always do that. It's like, saying he's perfect isn't good enough!! It's just unbelievable really. The beauty!
I appreciate that😁
What's so amazing is that we don't even have to know what he's saying.. the VOICE is so beautiful.
I am so elated by your reaction. Pavarotti is spectacular. Extraordinary talent. Kudos to you for your exquisite taste. TY so much for sharing.
I just fill up every time, so moving😢 what a voice Pav had.
This makes one want to cry. So beautiful.
For those that TRULY haven't heard of this GOD'S voice. Boy are your ears and senses in for a wicked treat...!!! Being a tenor singer myself Luciano as a fellow tenor was someone i always looked up to for inspiration. I am of course not ANYWHERE close to what he possessed for a gift. And i don't think anyone in my lifetime or perhaps the next will be either. Yes folks he was THAT PHENOMENAL. He truly was anointed by god with something very rare and special. The likes of which we just may never see again. So treasure his voice when you hear it folks. It truly is a once in a lifetime experience. That's just my personal opinion of course.
This music is pure feeling - his voice is unbelieveable.
60 some years old an have yet to see an opera. they say you do not need to know the language it is sung in because the feeling and emotion comes across all barriers of humanity no matter the language
One of the few times where it is a privilege to be Italian for a complete experience of music and lyrics. There is no one as good as him, an opera singer as good as big Luciano has yet to be born...
MARIA CALLAS C'ÉTAIT DU LOURD AUSSI ❤❤
Nessun Dorma = Nobody Sleeps, the last aria, Puccini's opera Turnadot.....and absolutely NAILS that final refrain, Al alba vincero, vincero, VINCEROOO!!!!!
I've enjoyed Pavrotti's performances for years and don't understand a word. It IS all about the conveyance and power and ability to be able to convey that emotion to others. It is wonderful, magical.
This is my favorite piece of opera. Never fails to give me goosebumps. You really need to listen to the Pavarotti and Freddie Mercury version of this song. Both were truly legends.
His singing moves me every time. What a loss to the world when he passed waaay too young. 😔💞
best Tenor of all time , till today ! He is at the same Star with Maria Kallas .
There will never , ever be another him !
Nessun dorma...a love song❤always deep feelings.
Mr. Veli..I am a 70+ yr old gma and I just discovered your posts. Am truly loving your reactions to songs....Dimash's too. It's like I have a friend who feels the emotions of each artist as I do! So fun.
This song, specifically sung by Pavarotti, wrenches my soul in the best way
fatanto piacere vedere i giovani che si commuovono di fronte a una musica che proprio nuova non è ma che apre sempre il cuore
I watched you both physically melt in front if me, says it all
If you want to really get your mind blown… watch Pavarotti and James Brown This is a man’s world.. absolutely 💯
Nessun dorma! Nessun dorma!
Tu pure, o Principessa
Nella tua fredda stanza
Guardi le stelle che tremano
D'amore e di speranza!
Ma il mio mistero è chiuso in me
Il nome mio nessun saprà!
No, no, sulla tua bocca lo dirò
Quando la luce splenderà!
Ed il mio bacio scioglierà
Il silenzio che ti fa mia!
(ll nome suo nessun saprà
E noi dovrem, ahimè! Morir! Morir!) coro
Dilegua, o notte! Tramontate, stelle!
Tramontate, stelle! All'alba vincerò!
Vincerò! Vincerò!
The translation
Let no one sleep,
Let no one sleep!
Even you, oh Princess,
In your cold room,
Watch the stars,
That tremble with love
And with hope.
But my mistery is hidden within me,
My name no one shall know,
No... no...
On your mouth, I will tell it,
When the light will shine.
And my kiss will dissolve the silence that makes you mine!
(No one will know his name and we must, alas, die, die.) chorus
Vanish, o night!
Set, stars! Set, stars!
At dawn, I will win!
I will win!
I will win!
Thank you for this translation!
Listening to Pavarotti for me is like Listening to Freddie Mercury.
Just sends shivers through your body
He was the Greatest voices in history
Nice to see young people enjoying original music....
Pavarotti is THE opera singer.👍🏻
J'ai eu cette grande chance de le voir à L'OPÉRA GARNIER c'était la plus belle voix que j'ai entendu
I love when artists of one genre can appreciate others! This is the finale of an opera called “Turandot “
That my brothers was your soul been controlled by the best voice ever R.I.P Pavarotti
He really was an incredible voice filled with richness and power.
He was a bit of a spoiled Diva as a person but his skill and voice was magnificient.
🥰🥰Greetings from a Canadian Dear🇨🇦
I know what is coming, and I ALWAYS get goosebumps. Always. Thank you both for this reaction ❤Australian
Thank you for appreciating this performance enough to let it play through.
Best rendition that all else is measured against. LOVE it.
I love all genre’s of music!! Soul is soul!!he did this song the best of anyone!!imo!!!!❤❤❤ that energy does not die!!!!
I saw him in concert and it remains one of most cherished memories.
This makes me cry every time.
Man, that song just pops you up into the clouds. I had to get a 10-mile ladder to get back down. You are right, a language of emotion.
Receiving a musical education at a young age helps develope our sense of appreciation for the beautiful things in life.

I really loved watching the reaction of both of you to Pavarotti. Thanks for introducing others to the beauty of classical music.
We're in Sydney and were able to hear him several times at the Opera House. An outstanding singer.
ABSOLUTELY STUNNINGLY HEAVENLY
A little background for those who don't know. This aria is from the opera 'Turandot'. The opera is set in China and follows the Prince Calaf, who falls in love with the cold Princess Turandot.[3] In order to win her hand in marriage, a suitor must solve three riddles, with a wrong answer resulting in their execution. Calaf passes the test, but Turandot refuses to marry him. He offers her a way out: if she is able to guess his name before dawn the next day, he will accept death. He sings Nessun Dorma that night. Here's the translation:
None shall sleep,
None shall sleep!
Even you, oh Princess,
In your cold room,
Watch the stars,
That tremble with love
And with hope.
But my secret is hidden within me,
My name no one shall know,
No... no...
On your mouth, I will tell it,
When the light shines.
And my kiss will dissolve
the silence that makes you mine!
(No one will know his name
and we must, alas, die.)
Vanish, o night!
Set, stars! Set, stars!
At dawn, I will win!
I will win!
I will win!
If your English and were alive in 1990 this song is the most bittersweet thing ever recorded.
You feel the music with your heart. ❤
Just beautiful! Although I don't understand one word he was singing his voice touched my soul
This is from Turandot by Puccini
Loved your reactions, Music can open the soul. If people would keep an open mind they'll discover jewels like this. Peace
I saw the 3 Tenors a few yrs ago in concert, Pavarotti sang Nessu Dorma
It was an absolutely a wonderful experience, his voice transended you out of this world ! ❤
Love your reactions. Just pure emotion and real respect.
Your beautiful smiles captured my heart, beautiful reaction. Caruso is another fantastic song by Luciano Pavarotti and It's a man's man's man's world his duet with James Brown is awesome ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thanks for letting us share this fine piece of music with you both.
Your pronunciation was perfect 👌
This is a favourite opera song for me & nobody performed it like Pavarotti.
Thank you 😊🙏💞
Great reaction! Regardless of genre, a voice for the ages.
What Pavarotti did was even tho many dont even know what he is singing (ie his language) with his voice he gave the passion of the note , so you felt it inside ,,deep inside.
Such a powerful performance of a very emotional piece of music
Check out Dmitri Hvorostovsky, the Siberian Tiger! Unfortunatately, he died of brain cancer a few years ago but the greatest voice of the 20th century.
Firstly, I’d like to congratulate you both on your true, respectful appreciation of this performance. Secondly, it’s heartwarming to see young people react so positively to music genres they haven’t encountered before. I enjoyed this enormously. Best wishes from the UK 🇬🇧 ❤😊
Love your reaction!
Thank you!! 😁
He had such a beautiful voice
One of the Great's and a lovely human being ❤
Heaven sent voice...thank you!
Thanks for listening
Absolutely magnificent.
Hi guys, this is not a " song" is an Opera composition called Turandot. The composer is the Italian Giacomo Puccini. The Opera composition contains " arie"
And each of them tells the story. Luciano Pavarotti is one of the greatest performers of Opera, if not the best. The training for this tipe of music takes years. What you are waTching here is pure talent plus hard preparation at the hightest level, ad that's all folks!
Or you could call it a song.
@@thundernels or, you study and you learn, and emprove.
@@thelastbluelady Yes. Improvement is important.
@@thundernels hahaha IMPROVE, see? I'm learning!😂😂😂😂😂
He gets me in the heart every time ☺️❤️
Bravi ragazzi bella reazione di cuore e sincera un abbraccio
A great Video you respected the fantastic voice of this Opera Singer and did not stop or interrupt it to appreciate his performance .Respect to you guys that you are prepared to listen to all types of music and vocals . 👍👍
Universally appreciated.
You pronounced this guys name and the name of the aria he’s performing better than many Americans lol!
😁😁
...ma il mio mistero e' chiuso in me, il mio nome nessun sapra'....❤
I am old and I have acquired a love of all music, from classical to hip hop, although I do struggle with heavy metal (my son and eldest granddaughter’s favourite music). I have this concert on tape and DVD … I know, you can probably stream it, but I am set up to use the DVD whenever I want, so it’s staying. Keep expanding your appreciation for everything musical. It is a true fact that my grandchildren are always asking me what is on my latest Spotify playlist. I am loving Red Clay Strays “Wondering Why” and anything by the Teskey Brothers at the moment because blues/soul/country are my all time favourite sounds.
That is perfection......
It really does go right through "your heart " doesn't it ? :)
I'm from an Italian family.. My Grandmother was full Italian but she married an English/Irish man.. I take after that side..blonde and green eyed.. my older sister totally Italian side.. I truly hated opera.. Mom and Sis loved it.. but when I heard Luciano do the Nessun Dorma.. I kinda got it a little bit.. Still a country, rock, hair band girl here but this is amazing.
😁😁
Maravilloso!
No matter how many times I watch this magnificent performance, it sends chills throughout my body. Most amazing vocals.
Pavorotti said, I can't sing like Elvis but he can sing like me!
